I am very disappointed with the care I received from Dr. Bohdan Hrecznyj at the Guidance Center. I took the day off work and arranged care for my special-needs granddaughter to attend an 8:30 a.m. appointment today. At 8:22 a.m., the front office called to cancel, stating that the doctor had already “completed the appointment” and needed to attend a meeting. This was extremely upsetting and unprofessional. My family is currently in crisis, which I previously discussed with Dr. Hrecznyj. His decision to cancel only minutes before the appointment showed a lack of attention to our situation and a disregard for the planning and time involved on my end. I encourage the Guidance Center to review—or, if needed, further develop—its policies regarding appointment management, patient rights, and communication. Patients are expected to attend and cancel appointments responsibly, and we deserve the same level of consideration in return. Based on my experience and similar feedback from others, it appears my concerns may not be isolated.

All they had to do was give me decent food and consistent care. Doesn’t seem like they cared.

Instead of being a key board warrior. 1. Esther is rude and verbally abrasive. 2 rolls her eyes. 3. Made fun of me cause I was on my bike, canceled last minute after I rode 45 minutes. The reviews are true folks. Just do tele health online save your efforts and time i wish i did.

Don’t come here if you’re trans or nonbinary, they constantly put my preferred name in quotation marks. Refused to even call me by it. I kept correcting them but nothing changed.

Leaving a review as a WARNING to others. I went to the Guidance center from June 2022-April 2025. I used multiple services, from the mommy & babies group, PCP, even mental health services. I was new to mental health mind you. Most of the employees here that I have encountered do not seem qualified to be doing what they’re doing. Ex: Therapist ( Couldn’t tell me my name outside his office doors, never gave any feedback or exercises to help with cognitive distortions or anything else literally just sat and listened.) My warning is mainly from their big promises and failure to follow through. I fell on hard times and needed help to keep my car. After a check in with my case worker- I won’t give specific names- she instructed me to pay my car payment because they could help me with bills like rent and utilities but couldn’t help with the car ( understandable) well after I followed the directions given to me I was informed ( after 2 months of checking in and pestering them) that they would not be able to help me pay ANYTHING. They continued to make more promises that resulted in nothing. But fool me once shame on you, twice is shame on me. So shame on me for wasting another minute here. After this instance my psych doctor lied to me and refused to listen to my wants or needs in regard to the medications they scared me into taking in the first place! Now I’m one that can take accountability where it is due, but when you fall on hard times and think you’ve found your saving grace that will help you back up , just to have them throw dirt on top of you instead isn’t something I’d wish on anyone. Don’t waste your time with this facility! I can say that the mommy and babies group was informative and gave great resources, but the directors of this group ( or who runs the meets idk if they “ direct” per say) were the ones giving me the guidance on how to cover my bills and stay afloat just to in the end almost get evicted and lose my car.

Believe ALL the bad reviews I was released from FMC with a referral to The Guidance Center for IOP and medication management. They accepted my referral and received all of my medical information earlier this month. I was scheduled to be seen today (6/30) and called to reschedule — only to be told by the manager that I could no longer be seen because of my mailing address. Let that sink in. Not that I lived out of town — just that my mailing address was outside their service area. I made it very clear that I have active insurance they are in-network with and that nothing changes until the Ist. I even told her I would be attending my original appointment today, 6/30, and that I could update my address today to my family’s Flagstaff address so there would be no issue. She still refused to help. I also explained that I live part-time in Flagstaff and could attend all appointments without issue. Still, she refused to see me. I desperately need my medication — for mental health and physical health reasons — and I explained that. She had zero compassion, didn’t ask any questions to better understand my situation, and showed no interest in helping someone in a vulnerable position. She is clearly not qualified to work in the medical field, let alone manage a facility dealing with mental health patients. She even admitted she had no knowledge of any resources in Phoenix when I asked for a referral and refused to involve a case manager or refer my medical info elsewhere. She made no effort to help me get the treatment that I was promised by FMC upon discharge. Her tone and refusal to help made it clear she just wanted to wash her hands of me. If she is reading this — and I hope she is — I want her to know that I will be filing a formal grievance with FMC. You should not be in a position to manage people in crisis if you can’t even offer basic compassion or problem-solving. People’s lives are at stake. Medication is not optional for many of us. This experience was traumatizing. I have never been treated this poorly by a medical professional or a mental health facility. I would never recommend this place to anyone — and certainly wouldn’t trust them with the care of any family member or loved one.

I really thought this place was interested in actually helping people, but I couldn't have been more wrong. After jumping through their hoops for over 30 days. Explaining we did not have insurance. The case manager, Madison, gave us an update at week 3.....we are waiting to see if his insurance is accepted here. Um, we told you he didn't have insurance and would need to utilize the block grant. Week 4 update from the case manager.....we are still waiting on his insurance approval, and someone is using the block grant and will be using it for at least 30 days (meaning they just got into the program). How did my spouse get put to the back of the line after doing all they asked for 30 days. Then, the case manager was supposed to send recommendations for other possible rehabs to his phone.....never did. Do not waste your time, energy, or effort on this place. It's a real shame, too, because the first person we spoke with was really excited about getting him in, someone seeking treatment, she even listened AND heard what we said. No one else there cared what we said. They heard what they wanted to, and that is it. I'm very disappointed.
