The Helm has been an absolute godsend for us. Every staff member is fully invested in the care and success of every kiddo. It has been transformative for us, and we would absolutely recommend them.

This place is a gem. People here really care about your child. You can sense it as soon as you set foot there. I totally recommend it. Give it a try and get to know them :)

Unfortunately, my experience with The Helm ABA has been very disappointing. While I had high hopes for their support, I quickly realized that this center functions more like a business than a place genuinely focused on children’s long-term development. They regularly assign very young and inexperienced techniciansto work one-on-one with children, often lacking the maturity or training needed for this responsibility. The use of iPads and youtube access as constant rewards is excessive and not developmentally appropriate as the primary tool for behavior management. Most concerning is their lack of support for school transition. Despite us communicating our goal for our child to attend school and updating the center for months, no school preparation or transition support was ever provided. There is little to no effort to help children adapt to structured educational environments, which is critical for long-term success. Like many ABA centers today, it feels more focused on billing hours than truly individualized, forward-thinking care. I expected better, and I hope they take serious steps to improve the quality and intent of their services.

Finding the Helm ABA Center has been one of the greatest blessings for our family. I am so thankful that we found them for our son. Every single person at this center is so dedicated, kind, and full of love. The care, patience, and commitment they show my child is nothing short of extraordinary. The therapists who work with my son are absolute angels. They pour their hearts into their work and have made such a meaningful impact not only on his life, but on our entire family. We could not be more grateful. The progress our son has made, the support we've received, and the love they continue to show him mean the world to us. My experience with Helm ABA in Allen has been extremely disappointing. We faced challenges with our son’s morning drop-offs, and ultimately, they abruptly removed him from the program—giving us only two weeks to find a new center. We requested a minimum of three weeks to make a thoughtful transition, but the clinical director dismissed our concerns completely.This sudden notice left us in a very difficult position. It took us two months to find a suitable ABA center, during which my son missed crucial services. It was clear that his well-being was not their priority—he felt more like a source of revenue than a child needing support. I also asked for his daily therapy hours to be reduced slightly, as eight hours per day was overwhelming for him. He was clearly fatigued by the final hour, and I sincerely questioned what value that last hour was bringing? My request was ignored.When my son was discharged, there was no farewell and no transition plan. Only after I reached out to the director did they acknowledge the need to provide an exit plan—something that should have been automatic.I deeply regret trusting Helm ABA with his care and hope no other family has to go through what we did. When something doesn’t feel right the first time it means it’s not right! Trust your gut.
