If Google would let me give this office more than 5 stars, I’d happily overthink my way into giving them at least 12. This place is basically my emotional pit stop — I walk in mentally tangled, anxious (maybe a little delusional some days) and walk out feeling like someone finally found the loose thread and gently pulled until everything made sense again. I’ve been seeing my therapist here for years, and she is an absolute legend. She has never once made me feel dumb for revisiting the same issues (hi, it’s me, I’m the problem, it’s me). She has somehow managed to be endlessly patient while working with me — the hot mess express who routinely loses all my words for 45 minutes and then finds every single one of them in the last five minutes of our session. She gives me the tough-love truth I need to hear, not the sugar-coated version I want. She’s helped me go from someone who survived in chaos to someone who’s actually learning how to manage it — one coping tool at a time. She gives me space to process, helps me put words to feelings I couldn’t even label, and never flinches at my recurring battles. If emotional baggage earned frequent-flyer points, she’d have helped me cash in by now. My kids also see a therapist here, and she might actually be a child-whisperer. We tried several therapists before her, but she’s the only one my kids instantly clicked with. They literally ask when they “get to go to therapy again,” which I’m pretty sure is the kid equivalent of giving her a standing ovation. Watching them grow, open up, and feel safe with her has been one of the biggest reliefs of my parenting life. I’ve also interacted with a handful of the other therapists in the office while they did clinical hours with mine, and honestly? They’re all fantastic. If this place were a group project, it’d be the first time in history every member actually carried their weight. If you’re looking for an office full of compassionate, skilled, no-nonsense professionals who will help you untangle your thoughts without letting you self-sabotage… this is the place. Highly, highly recommend — both from a mom and a long-term therapy “frequent flyer.”
I had a negative experience with one of the counselors at this location. I was dismissed by my counselor without notice, and made to feel it was my fault. In my last appointment, I stated I had su*cidal thoughts after discussing a difficult topic- that is all. I have written proof of this, as she dismissed me via email. I’ve been hesitant to reach out to any new counselor after this experience.
I've been to many different therapists starting way back when I was a teenager so I can say with confidence that Rachael and everyone at The Olive Branch are one of the best. It's a comfortable and safe environment and they truly care about their clients. She's helped my through so many dark times I've had over the past 8 years and I have nothing but trust and respect for her.
This is an excellent group of well-trained ethical therapists with a range of clinical skills and areas of expertise. Rachael and Emily have built a strong practice where they continue to train and supervise new clinicians. (They have a new name and location, but have been established for many years as State Street Counseling). I am grateful to have them as colleagues in the mental health field. They are a true asset to the Cedar Valley!
