Therapy Abroad

Word of caution, don’t put your money into this company unless you are 100% sure that you can pay for the trip entirely. I tried to roll over my $1,000 down payment from a previous year into a new program and the company was hard to work with. They said I had to pay another $1,000 before my original payment was applied. They didn’t answer my questions directly, and continued to try and sell me on a program even when I felt like I could no longer trust them and explained I didn’t want to travel with them anymore. They said it was due to switching to a new system, but they did not clearly communicate that.

Therapy Abroad is an amazing organization. I have traveled with them to both Belize and Thailand. Operations and logistics are always on point. They manage to work seamlessly with local communities while keeping their students comfortable and safe. It is incredible to see their work in action. Highly recommend taking a trip with Therapy Abroad!

What an amazing experience! Therapy Abroad does a fantastic job planning a trip that provides opportunity to immerse students in the culture of the country, experience adventure and beauty of the country, and experience learning how to provide therapy services in a culturally responsible manner. Their attention to detail with planning made it easy for supervisors to focus on the students and make the most of the experience. Therapy Abroad coordinates wonderful service-learning trips for universities. Trips are well thought out and staff care for the students' physical and emotional well-being throughout the trip. There is a good balance of clinical activities and cultural learning and excursions.

Our Therapy Abroad trip to Belize was absolutely amazing! From the pre-trip planning to our final good-byes at the airport, the whole Therapy Abroad team paid impeccable attention to detail to ensure that our trip flowed smoothly. Our group was able to get a feel for the culture while screening, assessing, and leading therapy sessions with the sweet children of San Ignacio. Topping off our work week with a day and a half of play in Caye Caulker was the perfect ending to a truly life-changing trip! Can't wait to bring another group on another trip with Therapy Abroad!

I went on several trips with Therapy abroad. To see the students working with kids that need so much help was heart melting. The students were amazing and the kids were so cute and loveable. The connections formed between the students and children were beautiful, often transcending language and cultural barriers. It was more than just a professional exchange; it was a life-changing experience that highlighted the power of empathy, collaboration, and making a difference. During my trips, if anything went wrong, Chad was always there to fix it. Highly recommend Chad and Therapy Abroad!
