My daughter receives Occupational, Speech, and Physical Therapy. We have been very pleased with the progress she has made but recently there has been a lot of turn over and all the different therapists is very hard on my daughter and I think makes it harder to make progress or at least slower. I do appreciate the willingness of the front desk ladies to help with any scheduling problems or questions. Also the therapists really do listen to how things are going at home and if you have any questions ir concerns. They also are great about explaining what they work on and what you can do at home to build in that progress. They are also willing to work with specific concerns for example the OT helped when my daughter became terrified of the elevator and other issues. The therapists make the objectives for each child individually not just basic ones that would fit any child which us very important.

My 1yo was assessed as severely delayed in gross motor skills by our pediatrician. As this sounds alarming, we quickly scheduled an assessment with TherapyWorks. The person who assessed my daughter was not the same person who provided PT, but both were kind and knowledgeable. It took my daughter some time to warm up, but Shawn was patient and offered an abundance of toys and activities. Shawn was clearly an expert in her field, I felt happy to have my daughter in such good hands. We had my daughter in PT about six months before this for a similar issue with a different provider, but it was not a good fit. If my daughter needs anymore PT or OT in the future, we'll come back to TherapyWorks!

I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at this center. I brought my 5-year-old son in for an evaluation, and during the process, I was asked a series of personal and sensitive questions about him directly in front of him—starting with “What are your concerns with him?” I found this extremely inappropriate. Speaking about a child’s difficulties in their presence, as if they’re not listening, can be very damaging to their self-esteem and sense of safety. When I returned to receive the report, I was told my son had to be present because “he is the patient.” I explained that I was not willing to discuss his challenges in front of him, and that as his mother, I have a responsibility to protect his emotional well-being. Although they did provide the written report, they said they could not explain it or answer any in-depth questions unless my son was present. I was also told that after each session, feedback about what was done in therapy is shared with parents—but again, only in the presence of the child. There is no private space or time for parents to talk openly with the therapists without the child being there, which I find deeply problematic. When I expressed my concerns, I was told that I was the only parent who had ever brought this up, which was even more alarming. To me, this reflects a lack of psychological insight and a poor understanding of child development. Children deserve to feel safe and supported, and parents should be able to communicate freely with professionals about their child’s needs. In my opinion, this center lacks the appropriate training and trauma-informed practices required to truly support children’s growth. I sincerely hope they reconsider their approach for the sake of the children and families they serve.
