Three Rivers Therapy

This review comment is on behalf of an individual that sought therapy services from Three Rivers Therapy. I am not the individual. EDIT: I received 2 phone calls this morning (2/4/26) from staff. The first, with I believe her name was Amanda, she was very pleasant and understanding, was to go over the voice-mail and get more information on the situation and let me know it is being escalated to a manager and a manager will return my call. The second call was from Tim, a manager I believe, and discussed more of the situation. I reiterated the discomfort and inappropriateness of a mental health professional looking up patients with their personal social media. I tried to express that this could be a more dangerous or harmful situation depending on the mental health crisis. Tim did state the situation is being handled in house. I did request to have a return call if possible on an update, if it would be addressed with all staff with an in-service or training but Tim was not able to state what actions will be taken to prevent this in the future. Will update if there is any further information. This individual decided to seek assistance from Three Rivers Therapy for an acutely urgent mental health need. They received a phone call to complete intake from a peer support specialist, which went well, and felt good about the preliminary plan of care. After getting off the phone, this individual notes on their personal social media page, the peer support specialist that did the intake with Three Rivers Therapy, named Chris Tyree, had viewed their profile and personal posts with his own personal social media profile. This was not a discussed action with the intake process, and seems like an overstep of boundries in this process. Any health care professional should know that is an inappropriate action to look up patients, or potential patients, on social media wilith their personal profiles, especially mental health professionals. This individual is already struggling with managing this sensitive and vulnerable time for this themselves. To have a stranger that has access to their health history use their personal social media page to look up people up on social media is extremely inappropriate and over steps the patient and professional relationship structure. Yes, there are privacy settings that can be done to change access to personal social media but to have someone that is working for a mental health facility look up an individual on their person social media is extremely inappropriate during a very vulnerable time. I have left a voice-mail with this office on 02/03/2026 with a request of a return call with a manager to discuss this.

I saw Noah Hokanson for therapy. If you are going thru truly hard times I would not suggest him as a counselor. I lost my mom in July and at first he was sympathetic and would let me talk and cry as needed, but then when the true grieving began and I started asking questions of how to work thru it, help on depression and life now he was quiet. He then recommended medicine, which was fine but I told him I wanted like homework, I literally was asking him what to do and he was quiet. It felt as though he was way over his head on what to say or do and instead of saying that or referring me to a counselor that would be better qualified, he stayed silent. It came to a point where if I didn't talk the phone would just be quiet, then I would hear his phone in the background like he was texting. I ultimately stopped calling and found a new counselor who now is truly helping me. Sending homework, validating my feelings, asking the hard questions. That's what counseling should be-not staying quiet as your client is literally begging for help and guidance. I then receive a "discharge letter" stating that he was "unable to assess progress due to my grieving circumstances"- so unprofessional. He was unable to assess, because he didn't know what he was doing. Others may be qualified here but Noah is not.

I took my daughter to counseling for about a month and we worked with Lizbeth. She was amazing! My daughter learned that certain behaviors were not okay, and with the tools Lizbeth gave us, we were able to make big improvements at home. Before therapy, my daughter had very little structure after living with her dad for a few years. Lizbeth helped us build healthy routines and understand that discipline and rules come from love. Now my daughter is calmer, more respectful, and our home feels so much more peaceful. If we ever need to go back in the future, I’ll definitely ask for Lizbeth again, she truly made a difference for us!

Never been, nor had any services done there however, had an appointment to start, to which I had cancelled a week prior. Come to find that they had submitted a claim to my insurance co even before my appt date for “unspecified services”. And in my case, had me owing them under my deductible. It took me 2 days to finally get through and speak to someone and they told me it was standard practice to just let my insurance co know I’ll be starting services with them but as a courtesy don’t charge me for it. Completely ridiculous. As a person with professional medical billing experience and as a patient in many doctors offices with insurance, I’ve never seen this “standard practice”. Had they not offered to void the claim, I was prepared to report it as fraud. Trust someone else with your care.

After attempting to go here for my child for about a year I have to say they have are unqualified to manager proper mental healthcare for children. They are unable to keep their therapist on staff and are already switched my child 3 times. They cannot build a relationship with my child to be able to get to what is bothering them if we keep switching counselors. It is unfortunate because they are closely located for us

Jori Horst is the worst. What business does a 23 year old unmarried woman with no children have giving marriage advice? She is a terrible therapist. When I tried to see her by myself she wouldn’t even listen to me. She offered little to no advice and would just constantly repeat “I understand how you feel”. Do not go here, or if you do, so not see Jori Horst.
