I absolutely hated this place. It was no help at all. The doctors were horrible I felt like they were just Guessing and couldn’t even explain what they were putting me on and why. Most of them, I couldn’t even understand because their English was so broken. The classes sucked. They didn’t teach me anything that I didn’t already know. most of The staff Made me feel so embarrassed and uncomfortable! The first three days I was there they were giving me medication that I had no idea what it was. and it made me so tired. I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I felt drunk. I didn’t even see a doctor untill the 4th day! Then was told I was put in the wrong wing and transferred to a different wing. I signed myself in for a 72 hour, but was lied to and told that I will not be able to leave within 72 hours that the doctor will determine when I could leave And that if I did not participate in the classes that they would make me stay longer. Because of this place, I am now so fearful to ask for help from a facility! The food there was God awful prison Food is better than what they serve. I was held there for a little over two weeks in hell! If you have a choice, please do not choose this place

I encountered a little bit of difficulty for my admission, but that's the only complaint I have of the partial program. I had a very good experience here helping to work through my emotions and had a great experience with my group. The therapists all have great character, and Milly, Leola, Esther, and Gabby all ran great sessions for our groups.

I have recently been at TBH after being there on previous admissions years ago. Some things have improved and some things have declined. The group therapy has greatly improved and I’d like to applaud Antonio and Jose as they are great therapists. I had mixed experiences with BHAs and nursing, but for the most part they were better and more attentive towards me than my previous admissions. I will say that the place was filthy though and this has gone downhill since the last time I was there. The floors were only vacuumed once in the entire two and half weeks I was there and there were hair balls and food all over the floor. Bathrooms were never cleaned and there was mold in some of them. I got a new roommate and when they changed the linens, they didn’t clean the mattress between patients. The nutrition content of the meals could improve. Often times the meals mostly consisted of carbs and starches. The nurse practitioner I was assigned, Teresa Sharp, I have mixed opinions about. I felt that overall she was concerned and had good intentions, but was at times invalidating and did not listen to my concerns that I felt I was on too many medications, as at this point it is hard to tell what medications are working and if they are interacting against each other. I also witnessed a patient being discharged who was threatening to kill himself, which was concerning and I felt very distressed that the staff was not talking to this patient about what was happening and the patients seemed more concerned about his wellbeing and safety than staff. I had some incidents of patients crossing boundaries and I do feel that the staff reacted well when this was brought to their attention. Overall, my experience was mixed and while this certainly was not my worst inpatient experience, there is also a need for improvement.

My daughter arrived there last Friday ( 5 days ago) I have called numerous times daily , left messages on voicemails each time no return calls ! The only human I’ve been able to reach is the pleasant young ladies answering my calls at admissions. My daughter keeps calling me asking if I’ve talked to anyone , tells me she hasn’t seen a doctor or case manager ( not sure if that’s true because she’s delusional) but I haven’t been able to get a return call either . I’ve dealt with a lot of facilities due to my daughter’s severe mental health issues. Normally I’m called within 24 hrs and asked about prior history , what have we been dealing with ! Without a release signed they can’t give me any updates, but I can give them back history! I would think they would want to obtain as much back history as possible to try & treat her in the most effective manner . I’m very disappointed, I expected better from Tower Health . Today I’ll be emailing the CEO !

I want to give a shout out to the one staff I felt like could really understand me. MISS ANDREA when I was at tbh she was so caring and me and her got along so well. we would stay up talking about my day and she would let me complain to her and she was the reason that I cried when I left. Andrea is a queen and I really hope she gets the nurse job she wants and succeeded in life. ALEX!!!

One of the worst run hospitals there is. Most of the people there do care but the hospitals priority’s are backwards. They are weaponizing metal health to prescribe medication that is not needed, just for monetary reasons. Cognitive behavioral therapy works so much better, and they do not seem to know what that is. They prescribe pills and then don’t even register the side effects they are told, nor monitor the patients for changes. And they make money doing it, which is the obvious reason why they do it. I witnessed them giving drugs to sleeping patients who requested no medications. What happened to my body, my choice? I would choose St Joseph Hospital over Reading hospital for anything medical or mental health treatments.
