Nathan is an amazing therapist for me. He has alot of experience, flexible, and test me every visit. Genuinely attempts to grow my tools to handle life and various challenges life throws at you. Dealing with work, church, or my aging parents. He is very good.
I think they have done a great job. I see April McKee and she has done a wonderful job of helping me understand my own issues and better cope with them. Important to me, she has also been a great listener. The office staff is also wonderful as are the people doing evaluations.
We’ve been very pleased thus far. My oldest son (10 in January) has been to several different counselors over the last few years. We have struggled to find the perfect fit and to find someone we could connect with. While we loved our previous counselor, we decided it was time to dig a little deeper and explore our options and that’s when we found Tree of Life. We started out with Ahana as our counselor but after our initial visit, she was injured outside of work and was very thoughtful and caring about my son’s mental health. She didn’t want to begin developing a relationship with him that she wouldn’t be able to consistently nurture as she had some pretty serious injuries and procedures that would be putting her out of work for months to come. So we were given the opportunity to work with Laura. When I tell you that I have adored her. I think that she is amazing. She is so down to earth. She’s just another person. Just like you and I. She’s just a person who has dedicated their time and focus to help others, to use her knowledge of mental health and ability to help others lead the best lives possible. She is neurodivergent as well and I think that really helped my son and I both relate with her so well. She’s not shy about talking about her being neurodivergent. I think it’s really amazing to actually be able to connect on that level with your counselor/therapist. It doesn’t feel as clinical. It feels comfortable and right. My son really likes her thus far as well. Laura truly wants to see you and your family succeed in life with understanding of your own identity and she is more than willing to go the extra mile. She’s suggested my younger son begin sessions as well so that we can have separate sessions and then family sessions. If you are considering therapy for yourself and or your child, just do it. It’s the best decision that I’ve made. I’m far from the perfect parent, parenting didn’t come with a guidebook and to be completely honest, I am relearning how to be mentally stable and facing my own childhood traumas and mental health challenges. I am able to admit that my previous emotionally immature parenting that had crept up and created obstacles in our family life is fixable and that there are resources available to mend mistakes that you may not even realize you’ve made, rebuild connection with your kiddos and just have a guide there for your child when they need someone they can trust that isn’t biased. While we are only a few months in, I can definitely say that we have not had a bad experience whatsoever. Laura keeps contact with clients through her personal phone so if she is needed at any given time, you’re able to reach her. That’s personal. ❤️
My now ex has been seeing Rachel as a therapist. As far as I know she is not actually licensed yet and has been telling him pretty dangerous things. This is from word of mouth from him mind you but he does keep going back to see her so I feel that she is helping make this situation unsafe for me. I fear for my safety and now have the cops involved with what is going on. Please do not see her.
Very pleased with the work and therapy I've been receiving from Charles Montgomery. I've been his patients for about 3 months now and after years regular talk therapy that never help make anything better or bearable I feel like I'm making some headway.I still have alot of work to do but really liking the feeling of putting some very painful life events behind me. They will always be there but they no longer have the massive effect on me they once had. Bit by bit, baby steps I'm getting better! Very friendly staff aswell!
