When I interviewed with Triangle, I was promised a collaborative team that “works from the heart” and that good training was a priority. None of that turned out to be true. I started just 3 days after passing my BCBA exam, and by day two I was expected to bill. That week, they wanted me to hit 27 billable hours. Let that sink in — no training, no guidance, just thrown straight into client care. Amber (the owner) loves to say “we’re clinician owned” and “we do in-house training.” True, but when I started, even the RBTs weren’t getting their BACB required 40 hour training. That’s a huge ethical and compliance issue. Communication? Practically non-existent. Management doesn’t sit down to talk to you — they tell you things in passing. One day in the middle of session (2pm in the day) I was told “hey, you have a new client tomorrow at 9am.” Another day, my manager added a meeting to my calendar without asking me. When I deleted it thinking it was a mistake, she walked into my session and asked if I could “reschedule our meeting.” They make decisions for you, not with you. Amber was all smiles and charm in my interview. After I got hired, I can count on one hand how many times she spoke to me — & every single time, I was the one who initiated it. She never once checked in to ask if I needed help or how things were going. When another BCBA asked if I could get some training, Amber said no. In meetings, she tells BCBAs we should tell parents that “Triangle is the best because we care” and that other companies only care about money. Triangle has become exactly what she claims other companies are. They care more about marketing & “building an empire” (her words) than about their staff or the kids. She’s on a path to serving 300 clients! (But is struggling to maintain the current 40). They started switching client rooms around in the middle of the day without warning anyone — just so they could cram in more clients (individual therapy rooms are a thing of a past). One of my kids struggled upset because his stuff was suddenly in a new room, and no one told him. Imagine someone moving all your things without asking. They don’t care. All the clients could’ve been involved in this big change! & should have been! They deserve to be apart of things that impact them. When I put in my 4-week notice (Oct 31), they confirmed my last day would be Nov 28. The following Tuesday, I was told — IN THE HALLWAY — “hey, today’s actually your last day.” I asked why. My manager said, “that’s just what we decided.” No explanation. Then I get an email accusing me of “abandoning my clients” and threatening to report me to the BACB — even though they revoked my email access immediately after I left the clinic so I couldn’t do any of the transitions they claimed I didn’t do. Btw, I had a hybrid position, meaning I was able to leave if I want to leave! That doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t finish my duties at home! They’re trying to rewrite the story to protect themselves. I messages Amber directly, and she blocked me. That’s the kind of “leadership” you can expect. As you can see, my first message sent. The second one did not because I was blocked. And to top it all off — last Thursday, Amber told her staff to go leave positive reviews on Google & Glassdoor. She even informed us NOT to use our work emails in the reviews. I urge staff and families to tell the truth about their experiences. I know I’m not the only Triangle employee who’s been treated this way. I also have seen several clients discharge services in my short 4 months of being there. To the people who work under Amber and just do as she says — why? You don’t have to be subjected to treating people poorly. That is NOT in your job description. Ask questions. Stand up for what is right. These clients and staff deserve better. Triangle ABA talks a big game about caring and being clinician-owned. The truth is they care about money, control, and appearances. The second you stop being useful to them, you’re disposable. If you’re a BCBA or RBT thinking of applying here — don’t. You deserve better.

I cannot express how GREAT Triangle ABA is! We have been looking for effective ABA therapy for our child for years and have not had much success. In just 3 short months, you wouldn’t even recognize our child after Triangle ABA has been providing such outstanding service! We highly recommend them to anyone looking for ABA therapy in the RDU area.
