Attention to Any Family Who Used Tulips for Their Speech IEE From my personal experience, Please be informed that you may need to request another Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) if your child’s Tulips report mirrors the school district’s assessment. An IEE is supposed to offer a fresh, unbiased, and professional assessment—not a recycled version of the school’s report. Any evaluator who reproduces another agency’s findings without proper verification, original testing, or independent judgment compromises the integrity of the process and ultimately affects the support your child receives. After reviewing and comparing their report with the SFUSD report, I discovered that over 60% of the content was copied, overlapping, or repeated word-for-word. This includes identical phrasing, duplicated observations, and entire sections that appear to be lifted directly from the district’s evaluation without independent analysis. Families should carefully review their reports from Tulips Speech Therapy for • Duplicated paragraphs • Identical recommendations • Copy-and-paste evaluation summaries • Overlapping test interpretations • Lack of new testing or independent observations • Sections that match the school district’s wording almost verbatim If you find similar issues, you have the right to challenge the validity of that IEE and request a new, truly independent evaluation. SFUSD have refused to look into I’ve experienced. Lastly, after conducting their assessment, the assessor spent less than 12 minutes reading the report, instead of reviewing her assessment to help the team better understand what she did. The moment I asked a question, she immediately requested that the meeting be postponed. And she is attending another meeting and will need to leave. It also took Tulips Speech Therapy over three months to respond to the email to come up with a new date to review their report with the parents —another clear SFUSD violation of the policy that requires all IEE reports to be delivered within 60 days. Since my experience with Tulips speech Therapy with SFUSD is yet to address my concern. I’ve also went to three other Independent evaluations, who agreed with the findings that my child needs speech Theraphy. And I hope many other parents seeking help for their child doesn’t fall a victim to recycled reports disguised as independent evaluations, and also jeopardize your child’s access to services. . It’s sad!!

My 3-year-old daughter worked with Ms. Abril for six months, focusing on improving her expressive language. Each session was incredibly personalized. From the very first meeting, when my daughter immediately felt comfortable and jumped into Ms. Abril's lap, it was clear we were in the right place. I was very disappointed because I thought I would walk out of the session with exercises to help me reduce strain on my voice. Instead, I felt like the therapist didn't understand my issue and told me things from basic web searches on LPR or dysphonia. We did the evaluation which was just sort of a baseline since I wasn't strained in the moment and it isn't constant. It also wasn't really reflective of the situations in which I have issues (stress, work). Then I spent the session with the therapist reviewing aloud a handout from the internet (google UNC Vocal Hygeine) which the therapist said they didn't know the meaning of one of the items. As a result, I got the impression it was the first time the therapist had thoroughly read the handout. The therapist said we will get to the exercises, which I thought meant before the end of the session, but we never had the time. I was very upset because the issue has prevented me from talking to my friends and family as much as I would like and caused me to have to take off work when I need vocal rest. I'll just continue straw exercises from YouTube. I was quoted $130 per 30 minute session. I wish I had interrupted the session and asked to skip to the exercises. I feel very upset.

Highly recommend Tulips Speech Therapy. We worked with Dani, and she did magic. Our boy is very shy, but she was able to open him up, and he started speaking more. At first, he said only a few words, then word combinations, now he speaks in sentences. We are so proud of his progress! The sessions are play-based, highly interactive and fun!

We cannot say enough amazing things about Tulips Speech Therapy! Our now 3-year old twin boys worked with Maggie for just over a year and she truly transformed them into little speaking machines! When Maggie started with us, our boys only said about 20 words. Now, they are having full conversations and asking so many questions. Best of all, Maggie is just the sweetest person and so obviously loves and cares for children. Each week, our twins couldn't wait to see Maggie. We highly recommend Tulips (and Maggie and the team)!
