Called to schedule an appointment for my child who has developmental delays. The receptionist informed me that I cannot call to make an appointment and that it Hass to be done by my doctors office. The website notes “not to wait, appointments can be scheduled for children while a referral is being processed”. I relayed this to the receptionist and lamented that I would have to call someone else, and she then hung up on me. I was shocked and disappointed that a UCSF staff member would be so unprofessional and unsympathetic in an office that manages conditions that are so sensitive and challenging for the affected children and their families.
This program was a godsend to our family when we were struggling with the special needs of our daughter. She just wasn't making much progress with the therapies she was getting. Going to PIP was the first time we started seeing real progress and got support we also needed after her traumatic medical course. Try it!
