After enrolling my dog, Howie, in other training classes with little success, I found Uncommon Canine Academy. Howie spent about a month with Auntie Jo and he has come so far! Some of the things that were worked on during the training were resource guarding, grooming and loose leash walking, all of which have improved drastically! Howie is still energetic but now much more confident and less anxious. Auntie Jo took great care of my pup and reassured me (nervous dog mom) along the way. I will be boarding Howie with Auntie Jo when I am traveling and will definitely recommend her expertise and care for other dog owners in need of support!
Recently we had a family emergency and needed immediate care for our 6 yr old Golden Retriever. I contacted BobbiJo who’s always been our go to trainer and doggie day care provider in the past. She didn’t hesitate to help out and an overnight care stay was arranged for the next day! Our Charlie had a blast as he always does. He came home happy and pretty tired I have to say. Not having to worry about our sweet dog when we were all ready stressed out was a god send.
I joined this group on Facebook. Thinking of getting a rescue dog in the future, I wanted to look around first for skilled, compassionate trainers. I'm very impressed with UnCommon Canine Academy. The videos and photos they post. All the helpful info they share and post is awesome.
We’ve used Jo twice and couldn’t be happier. I’m not one to trust others with my fur baby, but I rest easy when our girl is with her. You can’t put a price tag on that! Maisy just absolutely adores her and loves being at Uncommon Canine! And stubborn as our girl may be, she learned so much and is great with other dogs!! Thank you, Jo ❤️
My 5 month old cattle dog is afraid of almost everything. Except people. Chris and Jo are helping him gain confidence and learn how to play properly with other dogs. He’s becoming a great dog with all their help.
Bobbi Jo, Chris and Nicole are the best. I came to them a few months back after my reactive 7 year old cattle dog, Dennis, knocked me over while pregnant. We did a couple of training sessions and he goes to their camp 3x a week. He’s like a completely different dog now. He’s happy and fulfilled. Calm. He still is working on his reactivity with other dogs but he’s so much better than he was a few months ago. He’s a part of the family now instead of trying to lead it and stressing himself out. It’s brought so much peace to my life knowing that my dog is well taken care of while I adjust to becoming a mom. You can tell they really care. Today we went on a family walk, I was baby wearing, which is something I never would have been comfortable doing a couple months ago, and we were all in such a flow I forgot Dennis was with me for a second. That NEVER happens when you’re walking a reactive dog. No leash pulling or lunging at bikes or other dogs. I can’t thank Bobbi Jo, Chris and Nicole enough.
UnCommon Canine Academy is hands down the BEST at what they do. After reaching out to Bobbi Jo looking for help with a very specific and unique situation, she immediately had us set up lessons to work on Lugnut’s quirks. After each lesson, I drive away feeling SO grateful, and emotional to see the progress he is making. If you are wondering on whether or not to give it a shot, YES, YES, a million times yes. Lugnut had a very uncertain future until we walked through the doors of UnCommon Canine. Thank you, SO much Bobbi Jo, Chris, and Nicole for all of your hard work! It is absolutely incredible what you do, and how much you understand the mind of a dog!
Where do I start with Uncommon K9? Probably with a thank you, if I hadn’t said it 1,000,001 times already. Uncommon K9 specifically Bobbi Jo has helped my insecure young man Reggie step into his big boy paw prints this past summer introducing him into new experiences and routine. At this point, and while it’s on going Reggie is now a confident problem solving gentle dog for the most part. Training I know never ends, but is an ongoing learning curve but with trainers like Bobbi Jo they make the experience smooth. I didn’t know where I was going with Reggie beforehand but with the resources, unconditional support, and check ins I know Reggie will only continue to improve in his journey to be the best guy he can be. Even experiences such as going to the vet and monthly trips to the groomers improved immensely after his stay and learn program with Bobbi Jo this past summer. If you’re looking for reliable, honest, and dedicated look no further. Bobbi Jo is your person!!
Bobbi Jo is amazing! She is helping our extremely reactive dog gain confidence and learn to remain calm. She has helped our family so much!
We adopted a foster from Bobbi-Jo. Mae is an amazing dog. For the time she had Mae, her development speaks volumes for her program. She fits in amazingly well with us and our other dog. Despite this being a huge change for anyone, the transition was almost seamless. I definitely recommend Uncommon Canine Academy to anyone looking for boarding and/or training.
