Utah Autism Academy Orem Campus

This school physycly grabed me for taking my shirt off at recess

Our grandchild attended Utah Autism Academy, Orem campus. The technicians were fabulous! Our grandchild was at the Academy under a year. Our grandchild's parents repeatedly received unprofessional, confrontational emails. Passive aggressive emails were sent by Tricia Nelson, the director about attendance during the COVID-19 pandemic. The parents were following guidelines from UAA directly. The emails continued across other topics and ultimately impacted our grandchild's progress. Recommendations agreed upon by the team were not implemented, Tricia refused to approve them. We felt it was highly inappropriate to target vunerable parents trying to give their child the best possible chance for progress.We are aware that other parents with children who attended the academy had similar experiences with Tricia Nelson. We considered filing a complaint with the board. Other parents told us it was useless because she is the president of the board and there is a vice president, secretary etc. No one to hold her accountable for her actions. This treatment of others continues to happen unchecked.

Huge clean facility. Great staff they love our son he has improved leaps and bounds since starting. The owner/director Tricia has made it very personal and we just love every single person who helped with the process. Cant think of a better facility or team to work with us at this point in my sons diagnosis at this time in our journey.

I don't recall going for any reason but it's a wonderful place to have now if you need it as so many do.

Wonderful school who goes out of their way to make great experiences for kids on the spectrum.
