Winston Center for Attention, Language, & Learning

This used to a be a place where you could access help in a nearly-affordable way, as long as you never needed to contact them outside of appointments. Unfortunately, they’ve stopped accepting insurance and changed to a “subscription based model” in ADDITION to your visit fees. I’ve been recommending this place to people for years and I’ve literally had to text two coworkers this last week to let them know I’ve rescinded my previous recommendation. Painful to see this happen in an area where so much more support is needed. Their restructuring attempts have also resulted in them letting my doctor go. I’d be upset, but it’s not like I’ll be going back. Thankful for the nail in the coffin.

Good knowledgeable dudes, especially cause they focus in adhd. Prescriptions are wrong 2/5 the time though. Dropped to 3 stars on 12/17/25. More prescription errors.

Transformative Care at Winston Center! I can’t express how much Winston Center has changed my life! After years of misdiagnosis and struggling with various issues, I finally found the support I needed. James Clark, in particular, took the time to understand my unique situation and identify the root causes of my challenges. He made me feel seen and understood in ways that no other doctor ever has. His genuine care is evident, and it truly makes a difference. The entire team at Winston Center is incredibly compassionate and dedicated. I am immensely grateful for the care I've received. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking help!

The intake paperwork is absolutely insane. Would not recommend. The expense is also shocking. Would not recommend. They also don't offer accomodations or support to those completing the intake paperwork. Would not recommend.

TODAY WE CELEBRATED! She has given me permission to share her story in hopes that another child might find the help they need! 3 years ago our daughter was 7 years old and still struggling with letters, sounds, and reading. I had tried everything imaginable and was at the point where I needed help. The school district said there was no testing for dyslexia until she was 8 1/2, and even after that she would only receive 20 minutes a week of assistance. We knew she needed help now and found the Winston Center here in Spokane. After her initial testing it was evident this wasn’t an IQ issue, but truly dyslexia. We were also told that many children with dyslexia are finding huge success with ADHD medication helping their brains to decipher letters and language better. So she began the hard work of going 2x a week at 8:30am in sun, rain and snow we never missed a session! She cried so many times because it felt endless, and she had added assignments to her weekly schedule. However, today we CELEBRATED! She was tested last week and for the first time since starting “school” she is testing at grade level in reading and writing. You add the complexities that her brain was neonatally exposed to drugs and you see how much of an uphill battle she has fought. Both my husband and I know it is easy to assume someone else will pick up the pieces to help your child overcome a learning disability—a teacher, a counselor, etc. We know there were a million other things we could have done with our time and money, but the reality is you have to take the steering wheel and find the resources for your children. You have to be willing to make sacrifices for their success. There are lots of ways to help with dyslexia, but if you are in WA or ID Winston Center is highly recommended by us! UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW: We are over a year now into utilizing Winston services. If a photo could tell a story I would post one here of our dyslexic daughter reading a novel on her own in our living room. This is a little girl that took years to learn her alphabet. Our expectations for her progress at Winston were not something we had really defined for ourselves. All we knew was that we needed help and our resources in Spokane were limited. However, to see our daughter today as an avid reader, whom even volunteers in public settings to read aloud, is beyond anything we had anticipated. In fact, last week, we were told by a group leader in a program she is involved with that she is the strongest reader in the group of children they have in class. Truly we would have never expected to hear that about our daughter a year ago. As for our other child (also dyslexic and diagnosed with ADHD and dysgraphia) we are seeing steady but sure results. While his uphill journey might be longer, his work with Winston began sooner so we feel confident he will progress at a good pace. When I speak with other friends that live in Seattle or around the country I am amazed that we have this valuable service here in small Spokane. We are blessed beyond measure that Winston is meeting the needs in our community where the public schools aren’t addressing the issue of Dyslexia. As a family we cannot recommend them enough!

I highly recommend The Winston Center to anyone trying to understand themselves or their child’s ADHD or suspect they need ADHD psychological testing. I have referred many individuals to Winston and they have always been taken care of. I can’t say enough about the quality of healthcare Winston brings to the mental health community in Washington State. Learning about an ADHD diagnosis and having proper treatment, at any age, is a complete game changer. Thanks @DrBrianPham and team 🤗!!!

Our family has been so impressed with our experience at the Winston Center. They have been thorough, kind, communicative, and given us some excellent tools. Specifically, we were very grateful for our evaluation, follow-up, and support from Mary Kelleher, SLP. She has been a wealth of knowledge and hope for our child! I was initially concerned that living in a different town would be too hard but Winston center has been more than accommodating. Even for those who live outside of Spokane, Winston Center can be an incredibly valuable resource to families with kids who have ADHD and or Dyslexia/Dysgraphia.

As a late-diagnosed ADHDer, finding care as an adult hasn't been easy. But I've found Winston Center to be the best care I've experienced yet. Every doctor has been knowledgable, understanding and empathetic. I haven't felt judged or made to feel like a drug seeking criminal when asking for meds, but rather treated with dignity and respect and validated. Can't recommend them enough! I will say some of the admin staff is sometimes a little slow to understand what you're asking for but they always figure it out and deliver whats needed
