Please be cautious — supervision, responsiveness, and documentation need improvement My child was enrolled in the clinic’s social skills program. I communicated to leadership multiple times that my child did not feel safe around a particular peer. She clearly expressed discomfort for weeks before an incident occurred. When I raised my concern, it was dismissed with a statement to the effect of, “She needs to learn how to deal with kids she doesn’t like.” This framed her distress as something she simply needed to tolerate, rather than something to be understood and supported. When the social skills classes were later split, the peer who had distressed her was placed in the same room, along with another child. My child told me that the other child “protected her” when the first child was present. This meant my child was relying on another child for emotional safety — something that should have been provided by adults in a therapeutic environment. In March 2025, that same peer knocked a ball out of my child’s hands during a session. Her assigned behavior technician was not positioned near her and the interaction was not redirected. The initial incident report stated only that my child became “overstimulated,” without explaining the cause or acknowledging the peer interaction. After requesting to review the camera footage, it became clear that a key triggering event had been omitted. I had to request that the report be corrected before it accurately reflected what occurred. Several months earlier, I reported that my child had begun showing distress around a specific staff member. The footage I was shown did not reveal anything concerning; however, my child later shared that she had been in a room alone with that staff member — something that was not documented or communicated to me. The staff member was removed from my child’s team at that time. However, several weeks later, the same staff member was reassigned to my child due to scheduling. When my child again showed immediate distress, I stated clearly that I was not comfortable with that pairing. The next day, I was informed that the staff member was no longer employed at the clinic and had “accepted a position elsewhere.” No explanation, review outcome, or follow‐up was ever provided. There was no discussion of how this situation occurred, what was learned from it, or how similar situations would be prevented moving forward. After these events, my child began associating peers with feeling unsafe. She no longer wants to be in group settings without me present and has expressed that she does not want to be around other children. The program intended to support social confidence and emotional growth, but she left more anxious and withdrawn than when she began. We are now working independently to rebuild her trust and sense of safety in social settings. I filed a complaint with the NC Behavior Analyst Board, but the case appeared to rely on internal documentation — documentation that had already required correction after I requested video review. When essential details are missing from reports, the regulatory process cannot accurately evaluate concerns. Throughout this process, no staff member acknowledged the impact these events had on my child or our family. No apology, no discussion of harm, and no plan for improvement was offered. The absence of acknowledgment spoke clearly to how concerns were handled and how families are regarded when advocating for their child. If you are considering services here, I encourage you to ask specifically: How incident causes (not just behaviors) are documented, How staff positioning is monitored during peer interactions, How one-on-one interactions are supervised and recorded, How children’s expressed discomfort guides treatment decisions, How reports are corrected when information is incomplete A child’s emotional safety is not optional. Children deserve transparency, protection, and respect — not dismissal.

I appreciate all of my daughter’s RBTS and her BCBA. She thrived in the ABA and Early Learning program and will continue to do so in Social Skills. Thank you all so much!

From someone who has been through ABTA’s trainee program from start to finish, and became a BCBA here, I can’t fathom enough how much I have learned and how far I’ve grown. ABtA’s trainee program offers support, mentorship, and hands on experiences to assist you in your BCBA path and coursework. Couldn’t be more thankful!

ABtA has been such a huge part of my journey in ABA. I started out in their Trainee Program and honestly, it made all the difference during my transition from RBT to BCBA! They give you real hands-on experience, one-on-one tutoring for the big exam, and super helpful materials that actually teach you what you need to know. But the best part is the support—having people you can count on really helps when you’re juggling sessions, studying, and regular life things. Highly recommend ABtA for anyone that is exploring a BCBA career!

My child was diagnosed on the spectrum and the first thing I did was research facilities to help her. She has been at ABtA for 3 yrs now and has grown so much in all aspects and I know this was the best place for her. The staff is amazing and they really care for their students and families. They help families navigate the special needs of our children and give them a place to be themselves.

If I can say one thing about this place , they are literally angels on earth. My son been by my side ever since birth and in April 2024 he was diagnosed with autism level 2 . I didn’t know where to go , what to do. I got a referral to this place for my 4 year old at the time and at first I was a little iffy about my son not being with me 24/7 , heard so many things about other places . But after the first days that my son attended a bridge to achievement , he instantly feel in love with coming . He would cry when he would leave . It’s been one year since my son started attending in that one year , I’ve seen how wonderful and loving everyone at the center is , how reassuring they are , how well they communicate with the families. They send pictures and videos of your kiddos during to day so you won’t miss out on their progress ! My son has progressed a lot attending here, & there’s more progress to come ! I’ve seen them after hours in events that they make for our families and the way they are with all the kids ( not only with kids on the spectrum ) but all the kids , you could see and feel the love they give .. a bridge to achievement is our second home , our second family . I definitely recommend this place for any baby on the spectrum. Best and believe that not only will they help your babies progress but they will also love them . Thank you guys for all you do !

This place is amazing! They offer everything in one spot—diagnostics (ages 2-25), preschool, social skills, ADL, and vocational programs. The staff is professional and truly cares. I love that they use nicknames to protect privacy of learners—a small but thoughtful touch. The facility is clean, well-equipped, and built for success. Highly recommend!
