I've taken a family member to receive treatment at Advanced BHS for a couple years now & the service has been excellent. Both providers, Anthony and Cody have taken great care of my family member, and been very attentive to their needs. Our family is very grateful for the care provided to our family member by Advanced BHS.

I want to start off by saying my therapist was great. I would’ve loved to continued therapy but I am DONE getting frustrated by their receptionist team. My first frustration began on 1/20/26. I scheduled an appointment online with my new insurance (recently got married). Once I arrived for my appointment the receptionist told me my appointment was not accepted. This was due to me switching to a new therapist. She claimed they had called me to inform me but I had no missed calls, no voicemails and no text messages. Still I scheduled another appointment for 2/7/26 this time I did received a call to confirm my appointment. Today during check in, the receptionist advised me that my insurance was canceled and I would have to pay $170 for my visit. Once again they “apparently” texted me to inform me. I had no messages other than an appointment reminder and confirmation. The receptionist told me it must have been a glitch in their system. But I was still responsible for the full amount. Confused I asked her why wouldn’t the receptionist call to inform me. She advised they don’t do that. This business lacks in ethics. This is supposed to be a mental health service but they make it so hard to even get service. They need to review their text messaging system and their receptionist team. Advance Behavioral Health please do better for your clients. This isn’t just some misunderstanding. Getting help shouldn’t be this hard.

Avoid this place. My son went in for a simple medication refill, but the doctor spent a long time talking about things we already knew, clearly dragging out the visit. Weeks later, I received a bill that didn’t even explain what the charge was for. After calling twice, billing told me it was for “extra time,” which is ridiculous — if we had known, we would have just done a telehealth visit. We only went in because the doctor insisted on an in-person appointment and then spent most of it repeating unnecessary information. Even worse, a week later my card was charged an additional $80 without any notice or consent. I called three times, and they kept insisting I had authorized it, which is completely untrue. This kind of billing practice is unacceptable. Very disappointed and would not recommend this clinic.

Zachary Kuenstle is a psychiatrist in the office and has been my primary for over a year now. He is helpful, respectful, and kind. He listens better than any other mental health expert I have had in the past.
