Advances and Breakthroughs in Mental Health

I went a few times and everything was fine. Then randomly one day when I went in they said my insurance didn’t work and I’d have to pay the cash price. I needed my meds so I did. I called their finance department who confirmed my insurance actually did work. I started the process to get a refund. They’ve never called me back and every time I call they either don’t answer or act like they don’t know what I’m talking about. It’s been over six months and I still haven’t recieved my money back.

I have been coming here for years and ONLY because of Dr Stepanoff and the other therapists. The front office is absolutely HORRENDOUS. They never call you back. I have been calling all day trying to see what is going on with my appointment for today since I never got the phone call I have been waiting for (this is a time sensitive issue) and at this point I'm convinced they purposely don't answer the phone. If it wasn't for Dr Stepanoff, I wouldn't go here.

I'm sad to see so many bad reviews, but I really like the people here. All the therapist and Psychs I had seen there were amazingly nice people and genuinely care about my growth and success of my journey. I've had amazing progress with them. That being said, the biggest negative I have is there Billing department and getting in a call to schedule appointments. It took them 8 months to bill me for my weekly sessions and that's a big amount to get smacked by after so long. I did recommend 2 people go to their offices and they had a very hard time getting any sessions. 1 person never heard back after multiple calls and messages. The other got a intro appointment and did not have a good experience with the person reviewing the test results and never got placed to see a therapist. If you're able to get through their first hurdles and get placed with a therapist, I don't think you'll regret it. But also, good luck, I hope the office can grow to reflect the level of care the therapist give.

Teen son is flourishing after being diagnosed and cared for by Dr. Stepanoff and team!! He goes above and beyond & truly advocates to ensure my son’s accommodations are in place at school. 5 starts earned for sure!!

The front office staff is incredibly rude and disrespectful. I was sent by the VA as a disabled veteran. I followed up in person and she was incredibly rude. I have never experienced this with a provider. Do yourself a favor and find a different provider. It isn't worth the disrespect.

I don't ever, ever, ever write reviews for anything, so congratulations on being SO bad at this, I've actually taken the time to post a review. ***WARNING*** If you are seeking help, steer clear of this place! The staff here is grossly incompetent and rude!!! I'm guessing this is the result of either nepotism, or maybe they have some compromising photos of management. They certainly were not hired for their: attention to detail, great organizational skills, friendly and professional demeanor. If you'd like a friendly, courteous staff that is ready to assist you with your mental health needs....this place isn't it. If you're looking to have a prescription refilled as an existing patient....this place isn't it. If you'd like to discuss an issue with the doctor....this place isn't it. Call returned...? This place isn't it. I wish I was exaggerating, but in my 50+ years, I have never encountered a more unprofessional place. If you find yourself in need of some uneccessary stress and frustration, give them a call.
