The facilities are bare minimum, as they apparently have a goal to transition clients out of center based services. This was not made clear during intake, and does not appear to be noted on the website. Had we been informed of that before starting we could have avoided this provider entirely! The professionalism and communication from both our BCBA (Matthew Price Henderson) and the Clinic Director at the time (Kyle Jones) was almost comically lacking.
In hindsight, after finding another ABA provider, which was a markedly different (and positive) experience, I felt important to share my experience with ALP in Cary. BCBA was very unprofessional- she rolled her eyes at something I had said across the room to her RBT- in my own home, no less. She made unprofessional comments about her staff when they weren’t there, which didn’t instill a lot of confidence in anyone. I was never provided with a review of any type of treatment plan or any type of parent training- but my insurance certainly was billed for those services. If more than one staff member was at my home (keep in mind insurance is being billed for both people being there)- they would be chatting it up with one another more than pay attention to my son. Very young, which isn’t a problem necessarily, but obviously lacked the experience and supervision to be professional or take their jobs seriously. When I reached out to the “Director” about my concerns- he was very defensive and confrontational instead of willing to look for solutions and definitely wasn’t willing to reassign us to another BCBA when I asked. If you are second guessing any provider for your special needs child, always best to keep looking- the time is too important to waste!
