Away with Words

We have worked with Meg for over a year now (and still work with her) and she has changed our daughters literacy trajectory forever! First of all our child loves Meg and tutoring has been a delightful add to our week vs a burden. This is due to Meg's calm, patient and kind demeanor. She does a great job of making tutoring fun and also has great boundaries so they get a lot done in their time together. Our child has significantly impactful dyslexia and this has been a game changer in her ability to read and her confidence in reading! Her literacy homework went from being an emotional, dramatic struggle, to now her doing it without compliant. She still needs help, however her capacity to read has grown exponentially! If you are on the fence of doing this form of tutoring, do NOT hesitate anymore. This entire group is trained from Orton-Gillingham which is the gold standard for evidence based dyslexia treatment and it is right in Castle Rock! Also, remember this treatment is a marathon not a spirit, but you will see amazing results. Fantastic. I would recommend this place to anyone with a child who is struggling!

TJ really connected w my teen. My teenager had masked his dyslexia for so long that we had no idea about his difficulties in reading. TJ will tell an ice breaking joke or share a reel that he knows they can discuss, setting up a good start to the meeting. Reading is smoother, easier, and Teen got his first A on an English test!

Angela and Valerie have changed my daughter’s life for the better. They are competent, confident, and so easy to work with. They are wonderful educators who truly care about they do in the field of Dyslexia. I cannot recommend them enough!

This summer, we worked with Away with Words to evaluate our son for dyslexia, and the experience has been outstanding. We had the pleasure of working with Valerie Stokes, who conducted a thorough and comprehensive assessment. Valerie was not only professional but also incredibly empathetic and kind throughout the process. She took the time to educate us on what dyslexia means for our son and helped us build a plan to support his learning journey. Since then, we’ve been attending sessions at Away with Words twice a week. The center has created a welcoming and supportive environment that has made a difference in our son’s confidence and progress. We couldn’t be more pleased with the care and attention we've received and highly recommend Away with Words.

Angela works one-on-one with my son weekly for the past year. She has incredible energy and a clear passion for teaching kids to read. She motivates my son, and he looks forward to working with her. One day I picked up my daughter from her lesson with Ms Angela and she said, “Ms Angela is a bucket filler, isn’t she? She just fills up my bucket!” We have been working with Ms Angela for over three years and that statement summarizes why she is the absolute best. Ms Angela teaches with love, compassion, and excitement. While dyslexia makes reading difficult for my daughter, Ms Angela has a way of building her confidence and making her excited to come back for each reading lesson. Our family moved across the country last year and we couldn’t find anyone nearly as qualified as Angela Williams to help our daughter. Due to distance, we have switched to online lessons three times a week. Even after a long school day, my daughter is happy to join her zoom call and spend time with Ms Angela as they go through her next lesson. It’s so fun, that my son often tries to join in on the lesson. We are incredibly grateful for the work Ms Angela does and the growth that my daughter has experienced as a reader. Ms Angela has given her confidence and a love for reading.

I can’t say enough amazing things about Away with Words! My daughter has dyslexia and has been working with Angela Williams for years. She is patient, kind and I have seen my daughter grow so much.
