this review took me over a year to write because the experience was traumatizing, but i feel it’s important to warn future students who may consider working with chris saxon for clinical hours. as most pmhnp students know, securing clinical placements is extremely difficult—especially with an lpc preceptor. after sending over 400 emails, chris was the only one who responded, and we agreed to work together. he required a payment of $1,000 for clinical experience. before starting, he emailed me his schedule. i followed up with a phone call and explained that my program required one patient encounter per hour. his schedule only allowed for 3–5 patients per day, sometimes fewer due to cancellations, which would not meet requirements. i told him that in order to complete my hours, i would need to count chart reviews as encounters. he agreed, telling me that other students had done the same. based on this, i paid him and began my rotation. during the semester, i also obtained another preceptor who had more patients, and i kept chris informed of this. he raised no concerns. in the middle of this, i suffered a miscarriage. i was bleeding heavily, in severe pain, and could barely function, but i still worried about missing clinicals. i told him what was happening, thinking he would show basic compassion, but instead i was met with indifference. rather than receiving support, that absence was later used against me. through this time, i logged 24 hours with chris, which he approved as accurate. then, at my midterm evaluation, everything changed. he failed me, citing reasons such as “wearing too much perfume,” “wearing jeans on the first day,” and “not taking this seriously.” he also denied ever agreeing to chart reviews, despite having allowed them earlier, and later emailed me calling me “ignorant or unethical.” his sudden reversal led to my program dismissal. to be clear: many students, under pressure to meet clinical requirements, work out arrangements like this with their preceptors. it is not unusual to negotiate how hours are completed. yet chris chose to change his story mid-semester, after accepting payment and approving hours, and this had devastating consequences for me. i have never encountered someone as unprofessional and damaging to a student’s career as chris saxon. if you are a student considering him as a preceptor, you have been warned.
Top notch counselors, and a very helpful and welcoming staff.
Incredible. The staff was super helpful and polite. They made a nervous experience much easier.
Unprofessional people I had an appointment today May 6th at 4pm I was in the waiting area for 6 minutes until I called and asked why I hadn’t been attended and they told me my appointment was “canceled and that they left me a voicemail.” Excuse me? You never left me a message due to canceling my appointment I was really looking forward for this appointment very upsetting
