We had an excellent experience at BDI Playhouse Children's Therapy. The entire atmosphere is very welcoming-- starting even in the parking lot where staff greet families. It is clear that staff love working there and are extremely patient and kind. Following a tongue and lip tie release for my newborn son, we saw Amy Stumpf, speech therapist and lactation specialist. She came highly recommended by our pediatric dentist. Amy was truly excellent with my son. She was so helpful and knowledgeable and put my mama heart at ease from the beginning. Amy is a great listener and very gentle. I felt very comfortable having her help my son and I with nursing. She recommended quality products and always followed up by email after each appointment. I so highly recommend BDI. They specialize in a wide variety of children's therapy and as a former special education teacher, I can affirm that the staff are truly committed to helping children grow and succeed. We are very thankful we found Amy and BDI. ~Tori Doede

We had a great experience with Amy at BDI. Our son was struggling to eat solids at 10 months old. He gagged on any and all solids and couldn’t not successfully swallow. Just 2 or 3 sessions of feeding therapy with Amy gave us the tools and techniques to help him overcome his issue, and he was eating any and everything two months later!

BDI is absolutely wonderful!! We have had nothing but positive experiences with them, beginning when my son was just two months old! We started speech therapy with Ms. Amy when my son was two months old due to tongue, lip, and cheek ties. Post tie release, she helped us each week with stretches and breastfeeding! We returned at 18 months for delayed speech and we are still going and my son is almost 3. Ms. Amy is so wonderful! She is so patient, kind, and personable. She has been amazing with my son and he has improved immensely with his speech! We love Ms. Amy! He loves going to speech each week! We have also received PT with Ms. Lisa when my son was about 8 months old! He was still not rolling over or crawling at this time. Ms. Lisa was so patient and informative with my son! Before I knew it, he was rolling, crawling, and then walking! My son also received OT with Ms. Jessica! She is SO kind and positive! She gave me so many tools to use at home to help calm my son and to help with some sensory issues! Each week we did different activities and my son looked forward to going each week, as did I! When we graduated OT, we were happy, but also sad to leave Ms. Jessica! I would recommend BDI to anyone needing therapy services for their child! They truly have made such a difference! The front desk is always so friendly and they are very prompt in dealing with insurance and answering any questions you may have! If I could give BDI 10 stars, I would!

We are so incredibly grateful for Amy and the support she provided during our breastfeeding journey. From the very first session, Amy was warm, knowledgeable, and truly listened to our concerns. She quickly identified that our baby was having difficulty with latch and oral motor coordination—something we never realized could be supported by a speech pathologist. Amy’s expertise in infant feeding made a world of difference. She took the time to gently assess our baby’s oral function and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. Her guidance was not only informative but also deeply compassionate. With her help, feedings became smoother, more comfortable, and less stressful for both me and my baby. What I appreciated most was how empowering Amy made me feel as a parent. She offered practical strategies we could start using right away and followed up to make sure we were progressing. Thanks to Amy, breastfeeding has become a bonding experience instead of a struggle. If you’re navigating feeding challenges with your baby, I cannot recommend Amy enough. She is truly a gem in her field.

We had a wonderful experience with our daughter's physical therapist, Cassey, and I can't recommend her highly enough. She helped us navigate our daughter's torticollis with compassion, skill, and a clear plan. From the start, she provided us with a thorough and easy-to-follow home exercise program (HEP) that made a real difference. She also guided us through the process of addressing our daughter's head shape and made a timely and appropriate referral for helmet therapy. Her collaboration with the rest of our care team was seamless, and it felt like she truly cared about every aspect of our daughter's well-being. Additionally, we cannot thank our speech-language pathologist, Amy, enough for her calm support, thoughtful guidance, and knowledgeable care throughout our daughter's tongue and lip tie release. Her expertise helped us feel confident and supported every step of the way during a process that could have otherwise felt overwhelming. We’re so grateful to have had such a compassionate and skilled team supporting our daughter’s early care. Their dedication made all the difference.

BDI Playhouse is an amazing environment and resource for a variety of supportive services - speech/feeding, occupational, and physical therapy. They have created an incredible environment both physically and culturally. My daughter loves coming to speech therapy - an unbelievable feat! Between the gyms full of fun equipment to bounce, swing, climb, and jump on and the toys/games room filled to the brim with so many types of activities, BDI really lives up the “playhouse” in their name. All the therapists incorporate play into their sessions, either switching between exercises and fun, or combining the two! Everyone I’ve encountered seems to genuinely enjoy their job. When you walk into BDI, there is an upbeat positive feeling throughout- therapists greeting their next appointments as well as saying hello to the other kids they see. The other patients are happy to see their buddies (therapists) too! You can tell that everyone cares deeply about their patients. A wonderful benefit of their multidisciplinary office is the collaboration between therapists and disciplines. If your child needs multiple services, the therapists are in one location and can easily work together, determining the appropriate order and timing for the different services. It is much less coordination for the parent, both from a scheduling perspective and a patient approach. The patient gets better care with less friction. And, if the stars and schedules align, sometimes you can get back to back appointments to minimize visits to the office too! My daughter has worked primarily with Amy for speech therapy, with some physical therapy from Lisa. Amy has a kind welcoming demeanor that was absolutely perfect for my daughter, who takes time to warm up to new people. Amy moves at Viv’s pace while still getting through the therapy exercises. She is able to gently reign Viv in when she is being less than cooperative. Amy is realistic about what is and is not feasible for daily homework and keeps it to the most impactful exercises. We love Miss Amy! Lisa is also wonderful, regularly checking in with Viv to see how things feel and making sure nothing hurts. She doesn’t dismiss Viv’s feelings and reactions, but uses them to guide treatment. There is a level of respect and consideration for the kids that they don’t always receive from grownups. I have also gotten to be a patient at BDI for physical therapy, specifically for Craniosacral therapy (CST). I’ve had long standing challenges around breathing/posture/stress and have spent many years working through these with exercise, speech, physical therapy, and more. Lisa, Andrea, and Cassie at BDI have been an incredibly important part of improving these issues. I have been a tightly wound person my whole life, never good at relaxing. Other than coming out of anesthesia after surgery, I’ve never truly felt relaxed in my body until a few sessions into CST. I hadn’t consciously taken a real, full, deep breath using the correct primary breathing muscles until my CST sessions at BDI. Now that I know what a relaxed state and a full deep breath feel like, I can get much closer to replicating them on my own through home practice. I feel calmer. My posture has improved- my shoulders are less rounded and my rib cage moves a lot more. I’m able to use these improvements in my Pilates practice to make more lasting improvements. The actual sessions are wonderfully relaxing. I highly recommend BDI Playhouse - an exceptional environment providing supportive services to kids and grownups. I’m so glad we found BDI Playhouse!
