Behavioral Concepts worked with my son for several years. The dedication of the entire team from our ABA therapist, supervisor and even the owner was beyond a client/ vendor relationship. They were a support during IEP’s and were always looking at ways to provide and create opportunities for social interactions and generalizing skills in public settings. My son made great progress and the team became like family. The impact the team had on my son is a debt i cant repay, for families seeking autism services, there is no better provider than Behavioal Concepts. Highly highly recommend!
Dear Behavioral Concepts I am writing to express my deep concern regarding an incident that occurred during my recent visit to this facility. As a parent of a child with autism, I had sought out your services based on a recommendation from a friend. My intention was to enroll my son in ABA services, and I had all the necessary documents prepared for this purpose. During my visit, I had the opportunity to speak with the owner of the facility, as well as her son, Bernardo Medeiros, regarding my son's enrollment. They assured me that they had availability for my son, especially during the morning hours when other children are at school. With everything seemingly in order, I was eager to begin the ABA services for my son. However, my enthusiasm quickly turned to concern when I learned of an incident involving my friend's son, who also attends this facility. He is nonverbal and has autism, and he communicated to his mom that something happened to him and he got hurt by he said in his onw way... As a mother of a disabled child, I take such matters very seriously, especially when my child is unable to communicate verbally. In an effort to address this issue and seek clarification, I visited the facility with my friend and shared our concerns with Bernardo. While Bernardo was understanding and promised to investigate the matter, I was taken aback by the response of the owner, who answered the phone in a manner that I found to be arrogant and rude, this was in the next day. I was merely seeking clarity and resolution, yet she seemed to take my inquiry personally. Subsequently, when I called to inquire about the progress of my son's enrollment, I was met with further hostility and was informed that there was no longer space available for him. This was despite the fact that I had been assured of his enrollment just a day before. It was disheartening to witness such a lack of professionalism and empathy from the owner of the facility, especially given the sensitive nature of the situation. The events of that day have left me deeply disappointed and concerned about the level of care and professionalism of this lady. Every child, especially those with disabilities, deserves to be treated with compassion, understanding, and respect. It is unacceptable to deny services to a child with a disability simply because their mother seeks clarification regarding an incident. Professionalism entails working with the mother and understanding her perspective as a parent of a disabled child. It is natural for any mother to worry and seek clarification when incidents occur. Denying services only exacerbates the situation and fails to address the underlying concerns. All children, regardless of their circumstances, deserve access to the therapies and support they need. Thanks
The field of ABA early intensive behavioral intervention (EIBI) services is rift with companies that provide state-of-the-practice services. Many of these companies provide "cookie cutter" programming that lack the conceptual and technical foundation of a true Scientist/Practitioner model of intervention practice and management. Behavior Concepts is and exception to that trend, and represents a positive example of the application of state-of-the-art EIBI technologies guided by both the cumulative scientific knowledge of the field of applied and experimental behavior analysis, and the utilization of a scientific approach to the design and management of individual therapeutic programs. Implemented by staff, and monitored by Board Certified Behavior Analysts, who receive continual training and mentorship, Behavioral Concepts' EIBI programming is designed to maximize a Learner's acquisition of age-typical learning competencies and capabilities.
I began my career in the ABA field 6 years ago when Behavioral Concepts hired me as a behavior therapist. I immediately fell in love with the field and helping others in significant way. Behavioral Concepts is passionate about helping their clients and their staff lead successful lives. They provided me with many opportunities to advance my career and supported me while I completed my Master's Degree and studied for my BCBA exam. I cannot speak highly enough of the Behavioral Concepts' administration, staff, and families that I have been honored to work with.
I have been in the field of ABA for over 10 years. Behavioral Concepts is by far the best company I have had the privilege of working for! The clinical staff is supportive and knowledgeable across all areas of ABA. Staff and clients receive ample support on their individual cases. The directors provide on going training and support, allowing individuals continual growth on their cases, as well as developing their ABA repertoire. If you are a prospective employee, I highly recommend you join the team!!
I love working at Behavioral Concepts! The staff is very friendly and always there to help when needed. Supervisors provide support and constructive feedback to help you be successful as an ABA therapist. The company values and appreciates their staff, and works hard to create a positive work environment. I’m grateful to be a part of such a great team!
The person below (Alyssa M.) is claiming their experience while using my name. Claudia personally called me today to ask about my experience and how she could make it better after the review was left below, which in itself shows how much this company cares for their past and current employees. My time at Behavioral Concepts, LLC. was nothing short of great. They provide an extensive amount of training, which also includes of hands-on training. The supervisors I worked with had patience, and provided me with all of the necessary resources I needed to be successful in my position. The company is a great place to work for if you are interested in working in the ABA field!.
