Absolutely amazing company with the most kind and knowledgeable staff. My daughter LOVES her therapists (literally begs to go) and I’ve seen absolutely tremendous progress in the 2 years she’s been with them. They make me feel very supported and listened to and they truly care about their clients and their families. You won’t regret entrusting your child with them!
Emily has an exceptional ability to connect with both her colleagues and the families they work with. She takes the time to listen, understand specific needs, and tailor strategies to fit each unique situation. Her clear communication and thoughtful approach have made her one of the most respected BCBAs in the state. I highly recommend Blossom Behavioral Services to any family looking for ABA services.
Emily and Katie are two of the most knowledgeable, passionate, and empathetic BCBAs I’ve ever worked with in my 20 year career as a behavior analyst. Anytime someone is seeking services in the Newport News area, I refer them to Blossom. The area is fortunate to have a holistic and comprehensive ABA in-home and center-based services.
Spoke to Emily on setting up sessions with my child. She was extremely professional and spoke on what the expectations would be and what the progress would look like. Very informative and helpful. Cant wait to see what the progress with show!
I wanted to avoid leaving a negative review, but my husband and I feel compelled to share our experience with this ABA clinic due to the issues our son faced. Initially, my younger son was intentionally excluded from therapy, and we observed RBTs forcefully snatching toys from his hands. These toys, which they didn’t want him to play with, were left scattered around our house. When my son started playing with them, it led to tantrums and distress as I was forced to remove the toys, which caused unnecessary upset. Additionally, another RBT would often tell my son to "do better," and I never received any updates on his therapy progress or the specific goals being worked on. Despite numerous requests to the BCBA for updates, graphs, and charts, I never received any documentation even after two months of intensive therapy. I raised these concerns with Emily and Katie on five separate occasions. During a final phone call with Emily, I expressed our discomfort with the assigned RBT. Emily responded condescendingly, stating their policy did not allow parents to deny RBTs unless there was a “safety” concern, and dismissed our experience by claiming, “this has never happened before.” Throughout our two-month experience with Blossom, there was a consistent push for in-clinic ABA services, which seemed to be more convenient for them rather than considering what was best for our family. I hope this review helps other families avoid similar issues and prevent unnecessary distress or trauma for their children.
