Blue Gems ABA

My experience has not been so great. I was trying to stay with the company and give them chance after chance but things did not work out so well. I have had 4 therapists and 3 lead RBT. The first one talked to my son like he was slow (I'm sure she use to working with kids who do not talk at all), the second fell asleep on my couch, the third quit after she got the lead RBT to sign her papers. The fourth one has been pretty good for the most part. My son started to get frustrated with the new people. He started to stomp around and being as though I live on the third floor. I got one complaint from my neighbor and the leasing office threatened to put us out (never had any other problems out of him btw). For a while, his sessions were moved to two separate libraries and condensed to one. (Yes, I understand it's in home therapy). In the library, it's pretty quiet, empty and it's been working on his social skills. This week he started school so we would not be able to keep the same time slot or therapist. Blue Gems have called and said this will not be a good fit because we cannot be in the home. I cannot believe it ended like this. I have been more than accommodating. I even adjusted my schedule and times I allowed because it was becoming hard to replace the therapist. We have been in the library for a long time now, not sure why they are just saying something and ended abruptly. I was also told that other therapists have had their sessions in the library. Blue Gems is a wonderful company! They are very involved in children’s development and making sure each child’s individual strengths are built upon. Let me preface this by saying we have had in-home ABA therapy in the past. Yes, some technicians sucked, but we have also had a couple that were really good. With Blue Gems, we had tried two in-home techs within a years time. The first technician was very inexperienced and did not push our child enough to do what he needed to do. She also called out a lot and showed up late. The second technician was just...odd. Sometimes, I felt like she was just bossing my son around and secretly enjoyed seeing him struggle. Her enthusiasm was very minimal. She also acted differently(better) whenever the BCBA was here supervising. (Our BCBA was great by the way, so I have no complaints about her.) But apparently, for some unknown reason, the tech requested to move to another family and was taken off our case within less than a week, leaving us with no replacement. Jay at Blue Gems, IMO pretty much told us we are SOL and to use another company because he doesn't know when they're going to find someone for us. So now we begin this fun search again...

Blue Gems.. it's really amazing a clinic with a really friendly team I'm very satisfied with my son's progress he's only 3 years old and I feel very safe and comfortable leaving my son in his hands I was waiting for more than two years to receive ABA therapy in the county and they never gave me an answer then I informed me and uploaded that blue gems would open a clinic in Columbia Maryland and called to check prices but they told me that it was applicable with the insurance and they did the whole process for me it was very Easy to deliver the documentation, the truth is that they did everything. I have respect and gratitude with this clinic do not hesitate to apply you will be surprised with the beautiful progress of our little blue gems it is the best thing that can happen to us thank you.
