A Parent’s Journey with Mrs. Jessie Johnson – A True Champion for Our Kids I first met Mrs. Jessie Johnson back in the summer of 2022 when I enrolled my son Tyler, who is now a spirited 7-year-old with autism level 2 and speech and intellectual delays. Little did I know then that Mrs. Jessie would become such a vital part of our lives. From day one, her warmth and expertise shone through in every interaction, whether it was during our daily drop-offs and pick-ups or those crucial moments when I needed her guidance. One experience that stands out is when I had to navigate the tricky waters of an IEP meeting for Tyler at his school. I was overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start. But Mrs. Jessie, with her down-to-earth, relatable style, not only provided me with invaluable tips on how to prepare but also volunteered to be a part of the meeting. Her insights, drawn from her extensive experience both as the clinical director at Tyler's ABA center and her time in the public school system, were priceless. She broke down the IEP process for me, telling me exactly what to look for in Tyler’s education plan, making a daunting task much more manageable. What makes Mrs. Jessie so special is her genuine care and dedication. She’s not just a clinical director; she’s a warrior for our kids. Whether it’s celebrating the small wins with parents or advocating fiercely for Tyler, she goes above and beyond in ways that leave a lasting impact. Tyler is so engaged with her, and I’ve seen firsthand how she connects with all the kids and their parents, making each of us feel seen, heard, and supported. Mrs. Jessie is the kind of person who follows up on every concern, no matter how big or small, and she fights for our children like they’re her own. Her knowledge is deep, her heart is huge, and her commitment is unwavering. I’ve often joked that I’d follow her anywhere, but it’s true—I would, because I know I’m not just talking to a clinical director, I’m learning from someone who genuinely cares about my child’s success and well-being. As Mrs. Jessie embarks on her new journey with her own clinic, I know she’s going to be a blessing to every family she works with. While I’ll miss her dearly, I’m so happy for her and confident that her future is as bright as the lives she continues to touch. Jesse is amazing! She welcomed my son and I when I was just beginning to understand his diagnosis.
