Neurofeedback was a game changer for my mental health!! I did the brain map and full recommended treatment a couple years ago and am still noticing the positive impact it has played on my mental health. I used to struggle with sleep deprivation/ insomnia lots of anxiety and PTSD I now have deep restful sleep, I don’t spend my time overthinking and over analyzing everything or every situation and the best part is I am no longer triggered by the littlest things that used to. I highly recommend neurofeedback to everyone! I am incredibly thankful to Rachel and her staff 💕
I believe Neurofeedback can possibly benefit those experiencing TBI’s and disabilities; the question is—at what cost? In my experience, if you are going for anxiety, depression, to get “unstuck,” or to better sports performance and are a relatively healthy individual, RUN very far away!! I was a healthy individual and I have few regrets in my life, but taking part in Neurofeedback is a major one. I’m a big advocate for health and typically do a lot of research prior to diving into new procedures or modalities (I researched lasik/PRK surgeries and companies for over 10 years before committing)! As for my experience with NeurOptimize in early 2019 (now Braincode Centers), I enjoyed the team as individuals, but business is business, and health is health. I would’ve wanted to know the full truth of the adverse reactions and the significant negative longterm effects I’ve had on my brain and heart. After only about 6 sessions in 2019 (in which I only took part because I held a sales position within the company and wanted to be well-versed), I started to have headaches, major short-term memory loss, became very dyslexic with letters and words (in my speaking and writing) and also had a session where I was listening to worship music (having a spiritual experience, if you will) with the electrodes on my head and started to feel like I was having a heart attack. All that to say, the pain has remained all this time (6 years!!!), sometimes dull and ranging from my heart to my armpit and other times more intense and sharp within my heart. If I had to explain what happened from a non-medical perspective, it seems somehow all of my “anxiety” (which I really didn’t battle at the time) was rewired from my whole body to my heart. Post sessions over the last 6 years, I’ve had to retrain my brain with words and sometimes am still at a loss for certain words (that I normally wouldn’t have been prior to Neuro). I have been in and out of doctor’s offices and am finally trying to get answers after all this time, but felt a strong urge to forewarn others who are debating trying Neurofeedback. The kicker is, the day I left the company, I also ran into a friend who had been attending this same practice and she, too, was experiencing headaches, short term memory loss and dyslexia. I did try to address these issues with the owner, to which she replied that she didn’t want to stop what she was doing with how many people were being helped for the few who were experiencing adverse reactions… My words to the wise: Don’t try to fix what’s not broken!! I genuinely wish I wouldn’t have.
If you are on the fence about doing brain mapping - DO IT! I was skeptical when I started and my results have been amazing. There is trial and error to find the best program that works for you but it is well worth it. Everyone at the Littleton office is amazing and so great to work with. Hannah is my brain chiropractor!
I was a little hesitant approaching the Neurofeedback process, but I am indescribably grateful that I was able to connect with Braincode Centers in Littleton. It can be difficult to trust a clinic/organization with your brain, but I can assure you that you are in the BEST of hands at Braincode. Braincode leadership and staff immediately put my mind at ease with evidence-based content and clear explanations of their work. Each staff member I have encountered has been kind, thorough, and highly competent in their discipline. I never struggled with a lack of confidence in any provider I encountered. Specifically, I have been privileged to work with Hannah as the primary specialist on my case. Hannah has a creative treatment approach that is very holistic and thoughtful. She creates a safe space for clients to express their thoughts and perspectives on the Neurofeedback process, and she provides meaningful and useful insight that can be applied to support continued growth. Hannah maintains an ideal balance of encouraging clients out of the "comfort zone" while still supporting their unique needs throughout treatment. For instance, Hannah gave me the idea of practicing mindfulness during treatments every other session instead of viewing preferred content. I decided to try this, and I am so glad I did. I am confident that the strategies Hannah has provided to me have made a significant positive difference in the effectiveness of my treatment, and I feel very lucky to have worked with her. On rare occasions when scheduling required me to see a different provider, I was a little concerned because I was so comfortable working with Hannah. However, every other specialist I have seen (e.g. Reagan) has made the transition seamless because they work so collaboratively as a team to share notes and ensure that the experience remains consistent. THANK YOU to Hannah and the Braincode team (specialists and leadership) for all you have done to support my continued healing journey (and the journeys of so many others). This treatment is cutting edge, and I highly encourage anyone reading this to pursue it further.
