My daughter has had a really wonderful experience with her therapist Kelly Randall. We feel lucky to have found this place.
This review is specifically for the Eyas Landing Merlin Day Academy (3300 N Elston). OMG...STAY away! My child went through the therapeutic program AND ISBE program as a 10-11 year old. The New building will deceive you! There is high teacher/therapist turn-over. My child was the 1st child to transition from private insurance to ISBE...This is when we learned this school does not have staff who can write an IEP...let alone implement one. Very poor school-to-parent communication. Yes they use a Daily Connect App, but it is mostly used to communicate what the students ate for lunch, sign-in and out times, and the occasional walk to the park across the street...No real communication of progress monitoring!! On the first week that my autistic child's lunch schedule was changed....he became stressed and dysregulated and attempted to go home(which is an hour away)...he managed to elope to the parking lot where he could have been hit by a car and killed! This school (in the new building) is about a year old and failed the first State ISBE audit!!! If you have an elementary-middle school child who needs a small class size with intensive therapeutic support....unfortunately this won't be the one! Very incompetent!
Very dissatisfied and disappointed in the service we get here, 2 years of inconsistent therapy and constant change in structure. My son has gone through 4 BCBA’s 5 or 6 therapist and nobody seems to want to stay seems like a hard place to work. The company since implementing the Merlin program has not sufficiently staffed or supported the private side where we need the focus . Because of that you have disgruntled employees who are overworked and under appreciated for their efforts . We won’t be continuing here and warn any future private side patients of what awaits you.
We've been going to Eyas for at least 6 years now and are switching out to several new clinics to meet all of our daughter's therapeutical needs instead because the quality of staff and operations took a nosedive. Turnover rate of the therapists is absolutely astounding; our daughter was getting tossed between therapists every few months as many therapists would exit out. I guess they pay hourly rather than salary and that's only the beginning of employee/employer relations. The therapists coming in are way less qualified than the therapists they are replacing and yet Eyas is still charging pur insurance a whopping $240/hour for each session. They are straight out of lesser colleges and barely got their basic certifications. The therapists coming in are not there to build relationships with their clients and parents. It's become a lukewarm environment where they're just rotating through their students. New parent communication protocol with the therapists has also become ridiculous as you now have to go through the front desk, which also* has a high turnover rate so they don't know the students or their schedules. The last handful of times I attempted to relay a message about running late for pick-up or being outside for pick-up, the messages weren't relayed. And the pattern continues. I addressed the concerns about the downslide of Eyas over the years and although met with understanding and validating the issues, nothing has changed. No toys or even chalk in the waiting room; it's just an overall industrial style approach to therapy with special needs kids now. Very sad and disappointing. Do not recommend.
This is our first year at Eyas Landing and we have felt incredibly supported by all of the individuals on our son's team: Maryama, Makayla, Aaron, Amy, Kelly have really been amazing in providing excellent therapeutic care and the communication has been fantastic. When you have a child with special needs you want to surround them with the best care and we are so glad to have found Eyas Landing!
My daughter has been attending Eyas Landing and/or their sister company, Blue Bird Day, for the better part of 4+ years. Over that time we have worked with countless therapists, teachers, aides, and receptionists, and I am convinced that Eyas Landing is filled with people who are not only excellent at what they do, but who genuinely love the people they work with. Currently my daughter receives Speech, OT and ABA and we work with about 5 different therapists. My daughter loves all her therapists. They know how to keep her engaged and challenged. They listen intently to my concerns, and keep me informed of her progress and ways I can help her at home and school. They also meet frequently so if I tell a concern to one therapist, that therapist will share it with everyone else on her team so everyone is working on similar goals. She attended summer camp there, and when she went back to school, her teachers, aides and even the principal commented on how much she had progressed in her speech and behavior. Eyas Landing gets results, and makes you feel at home. What more could you ask for? I highly recommend!
The staff at Eyas Landing is phenomenal! We have had a great experience from the evaluation to treatment. We began seeing results within 6 months to the point we had to develop new goals! We see Heather and she is attentive, informative, listens and provides feedback. The facilities are terrific too. The moment I saw them, I knew our child would thrive!
I was connected with Laura when my oldest son was referred for OT through Early Intervention. After he aged out of EI, we added additional private therapy services for him at Eyas Landing. I was so impressed with the staff and facility that after I became a foster mom, I always requested my kids with needs be followed through Eyas Landing, too. It was a sad day when they aged out of Early Intervention because we all adored the staff at Eyas. My oldest son loves the summer camps now, which are a great adjunct to the therapies he receives at school. I \ highly recommend Eyas Landing for their beautiful facilities and smart, kind, and flexible therapists.
We can't say enough about the staff and our experience at Eyas Landing. My son started receiving OT services there when he was almost 4 and their sensory integration program is phenomenal. The genuine kindness of the staff is something that's so rare to come by as well. His services were totally customized based on the constant communication we had with his therapists, and the staff went above and beyond to visit him at his activities and at his school when he transferred out from their preschool program. Thanks to the incredible support he received at Eyas, my son is now a thriving first grader. We feel that he is more confident, expressive, and well grounded than many of his peers. He has a very good understanding of his limits and what he needs to be at his best and knows to ask for it and take care of himself physically and emotionally. We can't thank Eyas enough. The effects of the love and support he received there will last a lifetime for my son and for us as his parents.
