Family Support Center (South Center) - Specialized Autism Services

I will forever sing praises of this place! Since my son started 3 years ago he has improved drastically!! My once non-verbal son is now telling me what he wants to eat, colors, numbers , animals!! Can read!! I can Go on and on but i thank the staff & BTs at family support center! Thank you for giving my son a leg up in life despite his diagnosis . Enroll your child here you won’t be disappointed!!

As a children's therapist, I have had many interactions with this center, I recommend ABA services to children when I recognize they need support and training. Family Support Center is attentive, provides understandable assessments, and has knowledgeable and kind staff. Great resource for families who need ABA services!

I highly discourage utilizing this clinic (or Dr. Melanie D. Hoffman in general) for therapy or evaluation purposes. I took my son in for a full developmental psychological evaluation when he was 3 years old and the provider was incompetent unable to diagnose. Instead, of taking a step back to take more time the provider gave a blanket diagnosis of ICD F 89.0, which essentially just means something is wrong and I’m (the provider) is unable to diagnose. Before I could get this information I had to fight the clinic because they withheld the results, refused to call, refused to answer phones, etc. I ended up having other medical providers and insurance company reach out to them several times. I ended up hearing from the clinic as an accidentally call intended for another family. They scheduled a telephone appointment, which she was late for and made several statements that made me uncomfortable. Like “he’s a boy not ASD”, “I recommend a second opinion”, “come to my sleep clinic (outside of facility), but you will hate me for sleep therapy”, “he doesn’t have ASD because he does well in therapy settings and has reported positive improvements”, “he’s not 100% nonverbal now, so he doesn’t has ASD”, etc. I waited to post this review because I went to children’s hospital waitlist and after a 2 year wait the provider diagnosed him with ASD within 2 assessments and 2 hours. This was just step 1 of the evaluation process sometimes they go into more sessions and questionnaires to get further information. Family support center spent maybe 30 minute in person with us and took tons of questionnaires……but still couldn’t diagnose him. The cherry on top of those questionnaires is they reflected ASD, which is literally what every single provider has been stating for years before this evaluation.

Couldn't have found a better place for my daughters treatment. She has an amazing team that works with her every day of the week. It's been 1 year since enrollment and she's shown tremendous amounts of progress. The staff are very open and understanding to my daughters needs and treatment. They treat you like family with warm welcomes and lots of love for the kiddos. All around a great place
