Flatirons Cognitive Therapy

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Nicole Jumper at Flatirons Cognitive Therapy for several months. After a head on collision in an auto accident, I had multiple issues which included cognitive problems. Nicole, with great patience, guided me in the right direction. She taught me multiple daily skills to deal with my memory loss and multiple other issues. In a nutshell, I went from a very confused state of mind, slightly depressed, due to my car accident, and frustration on a daily basis, to a more organized life and one that I could control better. No more missed appointments, I am better at remembering names, and even though I have multiple challenges daily, I am more confident meeting those challenges through the skills Nicole has taught me. Every day I wake up I am met with multiple hurdles. I am definitely not healed all the way, but I’m in a much much better place, thanks to Flatirons Cognitive Therapy and Nicole’s guidance. Nicole with Flatirons Cognitive Therapy was so helpful. Over the course of several months, I was able to improve my executive functioning and return to baseline (before my accident). I had significant improvement in every area where we initially identified a deficit, and several of the areas I had over 50-70% improvement! Nicole was knowledgeable, compassionate, and most of all, I felt that she was informed about what I was experiencing and was able to explain the different ways we could approach my treatment, all backed by clinical knowledge and scientific evidence. Oh man, Flatirons has been pivotal to my healing. I was in a multi vehicle crash in 2024 and the journey has been particularly difficult. Dr. Ramya specifically, has been incredibly patient, kind, and thorough. All traits that truly showcase a provider who cares. We spent quite a bit of time together in weekly sessions where she identified areas I needed additional assistance with and referred me to others in fields outside of her scope. She assisted me with getting back on my feet and regaining my love of reading after suffering in my accident and not being able to enjoy doing so. She was flexible with me offering online appointments when driving on the freeway to get to her was very triggering after my accident. Ten years ago my son was hit by a car while riding his bike and suffered a brain injury. He was a sophomore in high school at the time, active in scouting and the school engineering program. The accident turned our world upside-down, and we didn't know which way to turn.  What a blessing to have found Ramya.  For several months he worked with her relearning cognitive skills. He ended up graduating high school a year later and enrolling in a community college to fill in gaps in math and writing. He was accepted a year later to Colorado Mesa University where he completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering. We both believe that he would not be where he is today if it wasn't for Ramya's expertise.  She met him where he was, lost and depressed, and gave him hope, skills, and healing. Ramya has been a light not just for my son, but also for me.  Thank you so much for your dedication to helping him Ramya!

I first started seeing Ramya Shyam a few months ago, after my optometrist recommended that I obtain her help in tackling some lingering brain-based symptoms that a recent course of vision therapy had not completely eradicated. I have seen Ramya several times since my first appointment with her. I cannot possibly say enough about her clinical perspicacity, depth of understanding, kindness, and skill in both assessing and treating a host of subtle yet impactful executive function issues that have affected my day-to-day task performance and occupational wellness for decades. I only wish I'd found Ramya during my school years, but I'm very grateful to have her in my corner now! Through her initial testing, Ramya was able to hone in on what exactly was going on with my brain function and was then able to provide very specific suggestions for how to address the issues that tend to get in my way. Ramya has worked patiently and flexibly with me as I've integrated her recommendations into my daily life, coaching me through the slight tech-related learning curve I've had to navigate in order to make use of the new organizational tactics. I have ultimately found every one of her suggestions manageable to implement and extremely useful, and there aren't any neurocognitive issues that she hasn't been able to help me find solutions for. I have also found Ramya's ability to relate and connect to me on a human-to-human level to be extraordinary. Both the fact that our work together has been grounded in that sense of connection and the persistent feeling of being rooted for as a neurodivergent single mom have propelled me to engage wholeheartedly in making the changes necessary to improve my quality of life. If I hadn't had the sense this whole time that my functioning, solvency, and wellness all mattered greatly to Ramya, it would have been so much harder to stick with the difficult moments that inevitably popped up along the way. Ramya made what was an extremely stressful time in my life easier by offering excellent advice, patience, and care to my family dealing with a traumatic brain injury and concussion due to an automobile accident. The steps she gave us were easy to follow and we were encouraged to ask questions and reach out with any concerns along the way.
