I am writing to formally express grave concerns regarding the treatment and care my son, he received 2 new drugs during two recent admissions at your facility within the past sixty days. These experiences have been deeply troubling and raise significant questions about the quality of care and professional conduct of your staff. During his initial visit, my son's condition regrettably deteriorated following interactions with another patient who discussed their hallucinations. This exposure appeared to trigger similar experiences in my son, according to a nurse but you medicated cause you said it looked real including auditory and visual disturbances, which were not present upon admission. While a new medication for ADHD was prescribed during his second visit, there was no corresponding adjustment or review of his existing medication dosages, which is a significant point of concern regarding comprehensive care. The therapeutic approach during his second visit also proved problematic. His therapist made statements that we found unprofessional and irrelevant to his treatment, specifically regarding the legality of corporal punishment in Illinois. She told him your parents can’t spank you with a bare hand. Furthermore, our urgent messages to the therapist were not forwarded to the attending physician, leading to critical communication breakdowns. Our interactions with the attending physician were equally unsatisfactory. During a family meeting, the doctor exhibited an uncooperative demeanor and was unwilling to provide clear explanations regarding the rationale for new medication or the lack of dosage adjustments for existing prescriptions. They failed to address his chronic stomache issues or acknowledge them. This lack of transparency was particularly alarming when the doctor indicated a readiness to discontinue medication without proper consultation or explanation. Throughout this period, we explicitly communicated our profound concerns for our son's safety and our desire for his immediate discharge. After the therapist failed to tell the care team our concerns. The issues culminated on the day of discharge. During a phone call, a member of your nursing staff used highly offensive and unprofessional language towards us. Subsequently, the discharge process itself was severely flawed. The discharge paperwork was incomplete and contained inaccuracies; specifically, it failed to list all of my son's prescribed medications, including those he was already taking, only documenting the newly introduced ones. Crucially, no return-to-school note was provided, despite confirmation from Jason, who we understood to be in charge of nursing staff, that such a document should be included. Due to these critical omissions and inaccuracies, I formally refused to sign the discharge paperwork, noting these deficiencies. Ms. Lana Miller was present during this discussion. Who is a high ranking official. Who literally seemed like not sheep the whole time, as medical personal were try to fix the issue. Lana had to get the skill program coordinator to call his school for no note was provided after an hour and the dr not willing to cooperate. Given the cumulative nature of these serious incidents, I believe this facility's practices warrant a thorough review. I want a Center for Medicaid Services review or investigation. I have already formally lodged complaints with the State regulatory body, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and have corresponded with our State Senator regarding these matters. Please, feel free to respond Lincoln Praire , I will use it against you Do not send your kids there

My daughter was here for about a week. The staff was always nice. Communication with me about her care was kept up well. My daughter came home in a much better head space than she went there with. Which I'm forever grateful. Is the place perfect? Absolutely not but, it is safe. & takes your child out of their comfortable environment into a safe place that gives them time to truly focus on themselves. They had group therapy, 1:1 therapy, "school", 3 meals, and gym twice a day. Able to have 2 outgoing & 2 incoming calls a day. This seemed to vary based on staff. If I could suggest changing anything my daughter's biggest complaints was 1. She didn't want to shower because that water was very cold. & 2. The pillows were very flat. Those two things pulled at my heart strings. At the end of it all. My daughter was safe & was able to acknowledge this is what she needed, and it helped. ♡

They were pretty decent in communication and my daughter didn't really hate it as much as she just hated not being home. Some staff were nice and others weren't. Overall it wasn't so bad. 4 stars.

At first I was hopeful and optimistic about my daughter staying. It was very challenging not being able to visit more than 1 time a week for an hour and at times would have to call for an hour to get someone or talk with her. Unfortunately I don’t feel anything helped. I feel she may have been discharged too early as we are 24 hrs post discharge and we are back to refusing to use any skills learned. Felt like prison and hurt for her being there to come out no better than she went in. Feeling lost as a parent.

Would not recommend as a treatment facility. My daughter was exposed to other girls physically fighting. Items that she needed were brought in, but never given to my daughter. She was kept inpatient longer than needed without medical necessity. Incongruity of care between team members. I had to call more than once to get the NP to return my call. Her medication was increased without notifying me. She is a minor. Most unit nurses were patient and helpful.

First of all, None of these places are "good". No one wants to be here. It's very traumatic for the person there and their family. That said, communication with the nursing staff was really good. I could call to get an update and they were all very kind and seemed caring. I appreciate that very much! The not so great: The Psych APN did not communicate clearly with me regarding my child's medication. The therapist told me on two different occasions that she would get back to me later that day and did not. The receptionist at the front desk seemed annoyed to be there on a Saturday and I know for a fact that she gave a different family incorrect information (because I asked a different staff the same question and they were able to do what I asked)
