This place is terrible. I took my six years old son and it is just so sketchy of a place very unprofessional.
Not often that I leave reviews about places, but I just did not enjoy my experience here. Had an ADHD consultation during which I was consistently cut off while speaking, and often asked questions that were answered by paperwork which I filled out rather than addressing things I had hoped to cover. I also think a lot of the fees are out of the ordinary, and cancelled further testing because it seems I could randomly get charged large amounts for time spent reviewing my file, which is entirely unmonitored and thus incontestable. I gave 3 stars because Riley was amazing, and the overall experience was efficient.
I went in seeking support and ended up feeling like a paycheck. They will nickel and dime you for everything, with outrageous charges that feel predatory. Make sure to read every single paper they give you — they’ll charge you for things you didn’t even know were billable, including simply being in the office. It’s a disappointing and exploitative experience. If you’re looking for genuine mental health support, look elsewhere. This place is all business, no care.
This practice misdiagnosed my child as being on the autism spectrum when he was in 2nd grade. He's currently a rising senior in college and luckily they were way wrong. He has Tourette Syndrome and ADHD, which was subsequently diagnosed by a reputable psychiatrist. Happy to say he's doing great and none of what they told us every became an issue (they said he would have processing issues as he got older). RUN away from this practice. I wish I never would have started with Laurie Phillips. She ended up misdiagnosing other kids in my community, which I later learned. Laurie accused me of "doctor shopping" until I found someone who gave me a diagnosis I found suitable. Whatever makes her feel better about being an awful clinician. I am a licensed mental health professional and I'm so glad I never listened to Laurie Phillps.
RUN, RUN, RUN…… this place is so shady. No one is apparently running it. I honestly don’t know how they are business because they shouldn’t be. As a mom who is trying to get my child the help he needs, it’s absurd that they function in this manner. They also recommend you to go to a psychiatrist who is just as shady. Now that we have a new psychiatrist he is questioning one of their diagnoses. Which is also an outdated term. I wish I would have read the reviews prior. A waste of time and money. They aren’t even helping children.
Update: I love how these people think it’s okay to illegally withhold patient records from the patient. I stopped using their services because the management of this practice is terrible. Worst billing practices. Took way more money from an account than was authorized to. Instead of returning the funds, they make excuses to extort patients. They make you give a credit card number instead of billing you after. Do not trust this practice, they are always doing something illegal. It's very interesting that the receptionists make excuses for a manager who seems to always be on vacation.
Run—don’t walk—away from this practice. Their billing practices are highly questionable and unlike anything I’ve encountered at other medical offices. As someone familiar with standard billing procedures and patient-clinician interactions, I can confidently say this practice is deeply flawed. Professional medical billers who reviewed their invoices described the billing as disorganized and inconsistent. You’ll receive large, unexplained bills with arbitrary dates and amounts, often only after the money has already been withdrawn from your account. I ignored my instincts, hoping to push through for the sake of my child. In hindsight, I should have questioned why they had immediate availability when every other reputable practice had waitlists. The therapy sessions were just as disappointing. My child would sit and color with no meaningful engagement or interaction. In contrast, our current provider collaborates with us, setting clear goals, providing valuable insights, and reviewing progress at the end of each session. Other mental health professionals have also confirmed that the therapy methods used at this practice were inappropriate for my child’s age. If you want to avoid unnecessary stress, wasted money, and frustration, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. There are many reputable, well-run mental health practices that can provide the care your family truly deserves. *I truly dislike leaving reviews such as this but I feel it necessary to protect others in this case
