Not enough stars in the sky to rate the value of Oak Tree! I spoke to Kathleen about some of the skills my daughter needed help developing as she was preparing to go off to college last summer. Kathleen paired us with Samantha (aka Sam), who is truly extraordinary. Sam worked with my daughter in the summer leading up to her going far away to college, to prepare her for an array of potential challenges. It made all the difference in the world!!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter has been crushing it in college, huge thanks to Sam and Kathleen. :)
Wonderful services! It has been such a pleasure it has been working with Ms Carlin. My son has been working with Carlin for a year. She is so great and his speech really flourished as a result of her hard work. She was both patient and assertive and had a great rapport with my son. We also really appreciated how she communicated with my husband and myself, keeping us updated on his progress and pointing out things we should work on. We can't say enough great things about her.
Both of my children have received services at Oak Tree. My oldest was a micro premie and needed lots of services. OakTree was great. I liked all of the therapist that he had. They were great with my son. He is doing really well now because of the services and recommendations he received from them early in life. Fast forward, my daughter was pretty typical, but did not talk. I called Mary and Kathleen at Oak Tree. She has been going to Oak Tree for almost two years for speech and a social playgroup. She is a different kid now. It has been really exciting to see what they have been able to get her to do and learn. The best things about Oak Tree are: 1. Great Staff and management; 2. They work well with insurance; 3. The therapists really take their time to explain what skills they worked on at the end of each session and give parents suggestions of what can be done at home to further work on those skills. 4. They will recommend services outside of their center if they think it would be beneficial. They did this for my son and their suggestion played a huge and important role in my son's success. In our experience, this quality is extremely important and hard to find.; 5. Their facility is fun for kids. It took my daughter a little while to get comfortable, but she loves it and asks to go to Oak Tree.
When our son reached 3 year-old, the Early Intervention Program recommended our family to check out options of OT programs. Oak Tree Developmental Center was on our list. Since we worked with a therapist who also worked for Oak Tree, we checked out its program and my son had weekly sessions ever since for 2 more years until he was discharged from the program recently. Our experience with the Oak Tree Developmental Center has been extremely positive and the therapy sessions were effective to our son. During the past couple years, we also worked with independent OT therapists. Comparing independent therapists vs. therapists at with Oak Tree Center, we felt that Oak Tree. has standardized quality controls on our child's progress and assessment. Plus, when therapists moved out of town or were not available, Oak Tree automatically recommended high quality therapists to replace the spot. So, we didn’t waste time to look for replacement while racing to catch up the missing sessions. Last, Mary and Kathleen are very helpful on dealing with insurance companies and billing issues, which are important for busy families these days.
My first experience with oak tree was in 2007. My son was receiving early intervention at the time and I was referred there for physical therapy. My son and I fell in love with his physical therapist so we proceeded to inquire if he could get speech and then occupational therapy there as well. My son proceeded to make progress and four years, later with all their support, he was exactly where he needed to be for his age. Last year, when my daughter was referred for speech I again decided to call Mary and Kathleen for support. They have and continue to be helpful, accommodating, and professional. I recommend oak tree developmental center and their therapists to all my friends who seek any of the services provided by the center. I have not been disappointed and I know neither will you!
My three children all received therapy at Oak Tree. The owners Kathleen and Mary are great to work with and are very helpful in answering any questions. All the therapist are great with children and are always letting parents know about their child's progress. All three of my children looked forward to going to therapy. I would highly recommend Oak Tree to any parent who is looking for therapy for their child.
