I normally only like to give good reviews. It is not my intention to hurt anyone’s business but my experience here (Huntersville location) was nothing short of frustrating and unprofessional. It may help save someone the trouble if they like to have a say in their child’s care. Unfortunately after 5 months we had to end our services here due to significant concerns regarding communication style and professional conduct. While I believe every family must ultimately decide what is best for their child, Kimberly’s communication approach felt inflexible and dismissive of our concerns. A specific issue arose when attempting to schedule future sessions; her response felt like a non-negotiable ultimatum that constrained our ability to plan and make choices for our son's care. This type of scheduling approach went on for 5 months. When asked for future dates available she would not respond for several days then only give me her last minute same day cancelled appointment dates. This obviously doesn’t work for our family given one of the reasons I sought care for my child is that they don’t respond well to last minute changes in plans. I told her we could only come in once every 3 weeks. Given our other commitments that’s all we could manage right now. She proceeded to tell me that weekly appointments were more effective and once my schedule will allow for weekly appointments then only would she provide me her dates. Her lack of collaborative planning and her complete disrespect for what was best for our family was enough for us to seek a more accommodating and professional provider. In Response to the owners reply below: You as an OT have a moral and ethical obligation to act in the best interest of your clients. Refusing to provide care based solely on scheduling limitations is harmful.

My 6 year old daughter and my 4 year old son both come here once a week to see Mrs. Kim and LOVE IT. It's something they both look forward to every week. The environment is calm and inviting. You are greeted by Mr. Sandy who is very kind and understanding then followed with a warm and loving greeting from Mrs. Kim. They make pediatric occupational therapy affordable for everyone and I am so glad we chose playwright for our needs. 💓 I couldn't recommended a better place for my kiddos.

My son who is now 13 went to Playright (in California) when he was 7 or 8 years old. At that time we were in the midst of a downward spiral. He was diagnosed with ADHD at 5 and SPD at 6. We spent a few years going to therapy with Kim and she was amazing. Always available to listen, answer questions and most of all patient with my son when he wasn’t always cooperative. He made great progress and has learned how to self regulate. It has been a long journey but persistence and hard work has paid off. Now at 13 he is thriving and was able to go on a 6 day school trip to Boston and NY. I know my son would not be where he is today without the life skills Kim taught him during his time with her at Playright.

My daughter has been aggressive towards her classmates in preschool. She’s been seeing Kimberly for the last month in a half and within a few weeks of OT with her, we have had only great feedback from our daughter’s teachers. It’s working!

Playright was a huge part of both my children's early childhood and early school years. We sought OT at Playright at their CA location when my oldest son was three and diagnosed with autism. We could not have ended up at a better OT practice. We were overwhelmed parents of an extremely high needs child and were just beginning to learn about sensory processing, encouraging flexibility, and emotional regulation. Kim ("Miss Kim"), the owner and OT has an amazing patience and is extremely knowledgeable about all things OT and parenting, especially for children on the spectrum. She was gracious with her time in educating us as parents. She helped both of my children develop the skills to express and regulate their emotions. She, and her team of OTs helped my children expand their flexibility--both in their general thinking, and in their food repertoire. She had an amazing rapport with my kids. They responded really well to her child-led approach. We now understand our children's needs in a way that has been so helpful, even vital. I am so happy with the growth both my children have made over the years and am so thankful for Miss Kim/Playright having had an integral role in that. Kim is patient, calm, kind, and highly knowledgeable. Her husband, Sandy, is very talented in building/creating whimsical environments the practice that encourage play in a comfortable and intriguing, even magical environment. We miss them here in California, but were so lucky to have had them in our lives. Families in North Carolina is so lucky to have Playright.

Would highly recommend Playright. Both of my children received OT at Playright in California for 3 years before they relocated. Kim was absolutely wonderful at working crafting a plans each child to work torwards achieving their goals in fun and inventive ways. The clinic it's self was also full of creative rooms brought to life by Kim's husband Sandy. We certainly miss everyone at Playright.

Ms. Kim has been so instrumental in helping both of my sons learn how to be their best selves. She used fun games to help make learning fun as well as creative crafts, many of which were hand made, to build confidence. Both of my boys would ask how much longer until we go to OT, literally counting down the days. We appreciate all she did for us, because she made a big difference.
