My son has been with the regional center since he was 3. He is now 14. Our original case manager B. Hamilton was amazing. She always drove to our house to meet with us. She knew my son well. She retired and he has a new case manager who I am so disappointed with. Have not spoken with her in 16 months. 16 months ago my son took swim lessons and regional center said they would reimburse me for the lessons. Over $1000. I still have not been reimbursed. I send email after email and I never hear back. I finally contacted her supervisor and someone even higher up. I received an email saying they are sorry and will look into to it. That was over 3 months ago. Contacted higher up again and get the same response. Also telling me that reimbursements can take a while. 16+ months is more that a while. So disappointed.
Administrative issues: Some families have experienced issues with case management, including a lack of communication and difficulty accessing services in a timely manner. ----------------------------------------------------over 1 year and a few months still waiting to find out what services are available. i applied over a year ago, months later after calling multiple times i finally got a screening, months later after contacting them multiple times i finally got testing -1 year. had to remind them to send my paperwork as they didnt send it. I still dont know what they actually do as i have not recieved any services and am eligible for them they have said. Does tax dollars go here? Yikes!
My daughter came back from college and we reopened her case. That was in January of 2025. We have yet to have received anything more than an I introductory meeting. I left messages begging for a call back. Nothing. Big disappointment.
The case managers do not keep up with their clients. The case workers do not return phone calls or emails. Neither do the supervisors of the case managers. I've been trying to reach my childrens case manager and supervisor for over a month now, with the additional help of three other people. None of us have heard back from the case manager not the supervisor. Also the current case worker we have she goes on "vacation" A LOT. She never seems to tell her clients which in my eyes is very unprofessional and tells me that she doesn't take her work seriously enough to be anybody's case manager. She has cases but doesn't mange them, but has time to mange " vacations". Regional is slipping and they're becoming unfunctional and unreliable.
They do not return calls and it is very hard to get ahold of the caseworker or get anything done unless you stay on top of it. Disappointing.
