This review exceeds the character limit, therefore it is continued in the screenshot attached. Our son has been attending Sandhills since he was 2 years old and is now 5 years old. We have worked with 5 SLP's at Sandhills over the course of this time and have seen the most success within the last 2 years. It takes a while for both sides to figure out the best way a child learns, but there have been several times where we as parents felt that we had to lead the sessions, even after being with the SLP for several months. We are very thankful for the help we received in our son's journey, however it seems that we began running into issues the last 6 months. We have always had a tongue tie being a possible issue in the back of our minds and reached out to several different professionals over the course of 4 years, as well as other SLP's, who all stated he did not have one. Hamsa, who is absolutely wonderful, brought up one session that it looks like he may have one and scheduled a meeting with Meredith. We met with both Hamsa and Meredith, had many tears cried over what we've endured over the past few years, and felt somewhat relieved as we left the office that day. However, we felt that we were being sold to about his tongue tie and were being told things that I was unsure about, such as his eczema is caused by his tongue tie. We were recommended to go see Dr. Guy at Village, and while we appreciated a direct referral, we were met with uncertainty about any other provider that isn't Dr. Guy at Village, who Meredith stated she was friends with. Since tongue ties are still somewhat a new concept, we wanted to make sure we were making the absolute best decision with the absolute best provider, as any parent does. We met again with our sons pediatrician, dentist, and had a consultation with Dr. Ray at NC Tongue Tie Center in Cary. From that point on, we felt confident that this is something that would be helpful to pursue with Dr. Ray instead of Village. Our experience with Village should be saved for a review with them, but the lack of information and support added to our uneasiness of going there. We were told to go from 2 sessions to 1 as we await the tongue tie procedure, and then afterwards we would take a short break for recovery. When the procedure got closer and we asked about the break, we were met with confusion and were told we would still be expected to show up, or our spot would be lost. It felt that once we had decided to see the "non-preferred" provider, our long-time relationship with Sandhills turned cold. There were several times we had missed appointments, however we were expecting a baby and there were not many times those appointments could be rescheduled. The day our baby was born was on an appointment day and as soon as we realized the baby was coming, we called to notify Sandhills. Meredith answered the phone call and seemed upset that we were cancelling so last minute, which we understand, however there was nothing we could predict about when the baby was being born. Even when our son was sick, we were still expected to show up. If we had the ability to cancel on a Sunday (24 hours ahead of time, at the very least) we would. As our sessions continued, they became more and more redundant. Our son began working on the same sounds he already mastered. We spoke with Hamsa, who is always open to feedback, and were looking forward to our next session with her after discussing what plan of action may work better for our son in the future. Unfortunately, our sons class had an exposure of Fifths Disease/HFM, therefore we had to cancel our 3rd appointment of the month. The new cancellation policy, which we were assured had excusable absences, does not seem to be true. (continued in added photo)

I wish I could give this group of amazing SLPs 10 stars! When we met, Meredith, the owner, I had spent 2 years being medically gaslighted by pediatricians that told me if my son was gaining weight and could stick out his tongue, he didn’t have a tongue tie or not enough of one to cause issues. When she evaluated him she immediately saw and showed me how his tongue tie was in the middle and not the front. She asked me insightful questions like, “Was breastfeeding painful with him,” and showed empathy when I expressed the frustrating journey we had been on with painful latching and delayed speech. I cried on the way home because someone had finally validated what I had been noticing and was going to help my sweet boy. Hamsa, the SLP my son was assigned to, is one of the most compassionate and supportive speech professionals I have had the opportunity to observe and work with, and I have worked with many as former elementary school teacher. She is like sunshine in a bottle and my son and I LOVE her. He asks to go to speech and one of the biggest reasons he can even express that desire verbally is due to the hard and insightful work of this amazing lady. Hamsa gave my baby boy a voice! He talks all the time now and is growing in language development by leaps and bounds. I honestly can’t recommend or thank Sandhills enough!

6 months in and I have no regrets, we found out my daughter had a lip and tongue tie during her assessment because of Meredith. Her speech has improved so much, she can now construct full sentences and have conversations compared to 6 months ago. Hamsa is her speech therapist and she is AMAZING!!! My daughter loves her and I am beyond pleased with my experience with Hamsa and also Meredith. The other staff are also very nice, we love it here! 10/10 recommend.

I am so happy I found Sandhills Therapy Solutions. I am new to the speech therapy world and we’ve been taking my 2yr old son here for about 1.5 months. I’ve noticed such a HUGE improvement in his speech. My son learns new words every week. I am so happy, and he’s so happy to go to speech every week. Ms. Hamsa is amazing. She is so sweet and professional and super fun! My husband and I are now able to communicate with our son through verbal speech, whereas before it was only pointing and some sign language. I’m able to learn as well and help our son at home 😊. Definitely recommend Sandhills Therapy for any child.
