My daughter attended occupational therapy at this facility for a few months, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The director, Jermaine, did not take my concerns seriously when I brought up multiple hygiene and professionalism issues with the therapists. On one occasion, the therapist Karrine attempted to use a spoon that still had purple kinetic sand on it. When I pointed it out, she said she had brought that spoon specifically for my child, which was concerning. I also noticed that hand washing was not being done consistently, and that therapists were eating food provided by parents during sessions. Later, my daughter was assigned to Travis, who conducted feeding sessions in the “jellyfish room,” which has no hand-washing station. My child has a low immune system and had just finished antibiotics, yet when I expressed concerns, Jermaine brushed it off instead of assigning us a different therapist. Additionally, I personally witnessed another therapist throw a yoga ball at a child’s head and try to play it off as part of the session — very unprofessional and alarming behavior. The facility itself is not very clean, and the front staff are often dismissive. When I tried to cancel future sessions due to these issues, Jermaine compared my concerns to “not bringing a toothbrush” and giving a therapist a “second chance.” His attitude felt disrespectful and unprofessional. I truly urge parents: sit in during your child’s sessions. Do not just wait in the car — observe for yourself how therapists handle hygiene, food, and interaction. While there were two wonderful staff members (the young woman who first worked with my daughter and Abraham, both kind and attentive), the overall culture here prioritizes billing insurance over children’s well-being. I have submitted a formal grievance with my insurance and encourage other parents who’ve had similar experiences to do the same so these concerns are properly investigated.
My son has been attending SenseAbilities, in which my wife has solely been the one that has taken him. We recently had our third child, and as a result, I have had to transition to taking him to speech. My son, whom is 4, has had a hard time transitioning with the new addition while simultaneously me now taking him. As a result, he has had a few hard times, resulting in him missing two classes. Now after missing two classes, we were notified he's been removed from the speech schedule. God forbid you cannot make a dollar, what a joke. Get some sense and ability, to care for the individual, rather than only caring about the ability to make some cents off an individual!
I absolutely LOVE SenseAbilities! My son has been coming here for about 3 years and we have seen so much improvement in his speech. McKenna is the BEST of the BEST! She has changed his life. He has so much more confidence in his speech. She is patient and knows so many different techniques to help him make the correct sounds. 100% recommend to everyone. THANK YOU MCKENNA FOR EVERYTHING!!!
My son really likes it here and he always looks forward to see his speech therapist. Thanks to them we have seen an improvement in him.
My son has been coming to Sensabilities for a few years. His speech therapist Ms. Janette Rodriguez has nothing but amazing!! We love her so much and my son has advanced so much with her help and patience. When he started his speech was so limited and has made so much progress. All of this could not be done without her love and support. My son looks forward to his speech sessions with Ms. Janette. We are so blessed and grateful to have her as our son David's therapist. Thank you Ms. Janette!
In the time I took my daughter for her therapies for about 2 years I never encountered any problems. Her therapists Travis and Chandini were always very caring and patient with her. My daughter always looked forward to her therapy appointments. My daughter’s speech has improved and she’s also willing to try new foods, and for that I will always be grateful.
This girl that works in the front finally got my daughter kicked out of the program because she claims I was rude to her on Saturday. In the past I had another issue with this same girl, so I reported her. I was on my phone with my husband that day she claims I was rude to her yet the only thing I said to her was that I went to pick something up and it was across in the parking lot and okay. I got a call today from Jermaine telling me my daughter is kicked out of the program due to me leaving the premises and because I was rude to his staff. I told him to review the camera footage so he could see I wasn’t lying and it was his employee doing it as a retaliation for me reporting her the last time. He said it wouldn’t make a difference you left the premises. That girl shouldn’t even be working there and should be fired and it’s sad the way he chose to believe her lie. Thanks to her which I will find out her name out she got my daughter kicked out of the program. As a boss he should see facts and yes I walked across the street to pick up a card they give us there so they could stamp it because I kept forgetting it. I was only away for like 2 minutes if that. Jermaine is wrong and that girl for lying but karma has a way of coming back. She messed with my daughter’s future and that’s something you don’t do. I’ve never had any issues with anyone there but with that one girl. The therapist there is awesome at least the ones one daughter worked with. Travis was awesome and the speech therapist was new but never had any issues with any of them. The front desk girls definitely need to be trained better because they can be rude especially when you call.
