THE PLACE FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM

Beautiful Autism Center! Very spacious with lots of room for kiddos to run and play. The therapists are all extremely engaged with their kids. This place looked like fun!

I recently visited this center and had a great experience touring it. I was able to see the love and care the therapists have for their clients through the play-based learning they were doing, which was wonderful to watch. I was also really impressed with how the therapists and BCBAs worked together to support the clients and each other. It truly felt like a strong, positive community that anyone would want to be a part of. I also loved that they offer specialized programming and resources to help children prepare for experiences like haircuts, dentist visits, and other situations that can be challenging for both the child and the family. Hearing about the upcoming fun activities, events, and spirit weeks made the environment feel even more like a supportive school setting. Highly recommended!

Love this place! We overall had a positive experience. Pro: My son learned so much during the year he was here. The staff was very attentive and his therapist worked diligently with him so he would be prepared for mainstream school. My son had some communication but was definitely very verbal after his time there. Though the Place was typically always open, especially during school breaks, at one point there was at least one cancellation of my son's session a week. I definitely provided my feedback on how that was very inconvenient as I had little to no daycare options available. They must have gotten this feedback from quite a few parents because it was eventually addressed and the last few months he was there, there were little to no cancellations of his sessions. Con: It might have been due to the short period of time we were there (it was a little less than a year) but I would have wanted more support in regards to his IEP and making sure it matched what he was working on and needed. I had to advocate for a more thorough discharge plan. The reality was my son was going to continue to needed services beyond the places so it wasn't until I advocated that I was given resources for how my son could continue some of his services beyond his IEP and with him going to school full-time. But overall I was very happy with the progress my son had while he attended the place.

The Place in Bloomington was a godsend for my family. ABA Therapy has transformed my child and the wonderful staff always made us feel seen and heard. They are passionate about what they do and their patience with the kiddos is amazing. I will be forever grateful to The Place for giving my child the opportunityand skills to blossom.
