Extremely Concerning Experience — Retaliation & Loss of Services After Reporting Misconduct My twins—both severely autistic, nonverbal, and significantly developmentally delayed—have been receiving ABA services through Attain ABA for years. Their technicians have been consistent, dedicated, and truly wonderful with my children. Unfortunately, everything above the technician level has been a completely different experience. I recently reported serious misconduct by their supervising BCBA, including inappropriate comments about my older children and discussing my family and my twins’ services with unrelated third parties. Instead of handling this professionally or protecting my children’s continuity of care, Attain ABA has allowed my twins to go months without a supervising BCBA. Most concerning: I was just informed that because Attain ABA cannot find a replacement, my twins will either lose their long-standing technicians or be transferred to a different provider entirely—while the BCBA whose behavior I reported is apparently still employed. To make matters worse, one of my children’s technicians was contacted and told not to contact me because services were “on hold,” and I was never even notified. No written explanation. No transition plan. No clinical reasoning. Nothing. For children like mine, consistency is everything. Losing trusted technicians or having services abruptly put “on hold” is more than an inconvenience—it’s dangerous and causes regression. Families should be able to report legitimate concerns without having their medically-necessary services disrupted as a result. This has been an extremely distressing and unprofessional experience, and I hope Attain ABA takes immediate steps to correct these issues for every family depending on them.

My experience with Attain ABA Chicago has been very disappointing. Many companies claim to care about families raising children with autism, but that hasn’t been my experience here. There’s been a lot of miscommunication and very little consistency or progress. It often feels like the focus is more on billing insurance than truly helping the child or supporting the family. The BCBA’s involvement and communication were especially unhelpful, and I didn’t see any meaningful results from their oversight. Families deserve honesty, professionalism, and compassion none of which we found here.

Notice how all the ratings that are 5 stars from employees? That’s sad. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this place. I made the biggest mistake as a parent by enrolling my child in Attain. They’re unprofessional, use reverse psychology when they are wrong, have a mess of a command structure and unlicensed and untrained therapists. So if you want to take the risk, be sure to do your research and ask them all the questions you possibly can and record them so you’re not left with a waste of months and zero accomplishment , zero accountability on their end, and a traumatized kid after all is said and done.

Best aba company in the world!!!! Best staff that are there for you all the way, and many great people work in the office there, highly recommend.

Worst company, after years with them a BHT screw over my child hours, purposely. After expresing whats happening to the company, instead of them doing an observation they cut half the hours. So now the child is screwed. No support half the day. ATTAIN is not it. They dont care for the well being of the child, and they sure dont care about parents opinions. This is insane. They wont hear u out if theres an issue. And dont let me get started about BHT. they hire just anyone. U be lucky if u come across a good one.

They don’t know what ABA is, and they don’t train their RBT’s to reflect that. Professional BCBA’s and RBT’s know how to redirect behaviors. Data doesn’t help when you don’t know what you’re doing. Would not recommend.

I highly recommend this company for anyone looking for ABA services or for anyone interested in starting their career journey in the ABA field. The staff here is very supportive and professional. They take time to make sure care, and consideration is taken into each case. This is an ABA company you can trust and that will be with you every step of the way through your journey.

Worst ABA firm ever. They have a long wait and they cannot keep staff. I waited months to start and was met with poorly trained therapist, lack of availability, and staff shortages. Therapists quit left and right, over 6 months my son had 7-8 therapist. It took 2-4 weeks to replace each therapist leaving my son without therapy for most of the time. My son did not meet any goals that were created for him. I worked to get my son potty trained and to meet his goals on my own. Attain should lose their license I am currently reporting this firm to VA state legislature and boards. Do yourself a favor and pick another ABA firm.

Attain ABA has been amazing for our child! Their team made the insurance process easy and stress-free, guiding us every step of the way. The therapists are caring, knowledgeable, and truly invested in our child's progress. We’re so grateful for their support and highly recommend them!
